Tom Haddon
Arthur Thompson "Tom" Haddon (6 March 1886 — 26 July 1976) was a New Zealand rugby league player. He was Kiwi number 136 after playing two tests for New Zealand against Australia in 1919. Early life Arthur Thompson Haddon was born in Yorkshire, England and came to New Zealand in 1910. He joined the North Shore Albions that same year and played for their senior side. Playing career North Shore Albions Tom Haddon played for North Shore Albions from 1910 until 1913 before he joined Grafton Athletic in their first season. In 1914, he was elected on to their committee and also was chosen as one of their selectors. At this stage of his career he played primarily on the wing before later on moving into the forwards. In 1915, he played in several matches later in the season including the final which Grafton won 10 points to 5 over City to claim their only ever first grade title. Bill Davidson (rugby League)
Bill Davidson is a New Zealand rugby league footballer who represented New Zealand. A brother, Ben, also played for New Zealand while another brother, George, represented New Zealand at the 1920 Olympic Games. Playing career A goal kicking fullback, Davidson played for the City Rovers between 1915 and 1923 in the Auckland Rugby League competition. Even as a young player his goal kicking became well known. In 1914 when he was still in the City 2nd Grade team he was reported thus: "this boy, Davidson, of City, is said to be a remarkable place kicker and half a dozen goals in one afternoon has been no uncommon achievement for him this season. He kicks them from all angles and all ranges, and many old players and officials have described him as easily the best goal kicker in Auckland". Joe Bennett (rugby League)
Edward Joseph Bennett (14 October 1883 – 9 May 1965) was a New Zealand rugby league footballer. Bennett played in the second row position. He represented the New Zealand rugby league team in two test matches against England in 1920. In the process he became the 144th player to represent New Zealand. He also played for the Waiuku rugby club, and the Newton Rangers, and Grafton Athletic rugby league clubs. Bennett also represented the Auckland and North Island rugby league teams. William Wynyard (rugby League)
William Thomas Wynyard (13 September 1882 – 21 August 1932) was a New Zealand rugby football player who was part of the professional rugby league 1907–08 New Zealand rugby tour of Australia and Great Britain. Background He was the brother of Richard Wynyard. He was born and died in Auckland. Early years Wynyard was from a sporting family that included three uncles that were part of the 1888–89 New Zealand Native football team that conducted a rugby union tour of Great Britain. One of these three, Tabby Wynyard, went on to represent New Zealand on their 1893 tour of Australia. Andrew James O'Brien (1897–1969) was a New Zealand rugby footballer who represented New Zealand with the All Blacks and in New Zealand national rugby league team, rugby league. Rugby union career O'Brien began his career playing rugby union for Marlborough Rugby Union, Marlborough between 1919 and 1921. Marist Saints
The Marist Saints is a rugby league club based in Mount Albert, New Zealand. They currently compete in the top grade in Auckland Rugby League, the Fox Memorial Premiership. History Founded in 1919, the Marist club first won the Fox Memorial in 1924. They originally played at the Auckland Domain before moving to their current home, in Murray Halberg Park. Their lower grade teams now also play matches at Margaret Griffen Park in Lynfield. First season and match In 1919 Marist entered teams in first grade and also in the second grade. Bill Stormont
William Stormont (25 August 1898 – 4 June 1925) was a New Zealand rugby league player who represented New Zealand. His parents were John Stormont (1 Aug 1863 – 23 September 1936), a pastry chef and baker, and Annie Stormont nee Brownlie (7 July 1871 – 7 Dec 1944). Playing career Stormont played for Marist in the Auckland Rugby League competition. He represented Auckland and was first selected for the New Zealand national rugby league team in 1920 following Aucklands 24-16 win over the touring English team. Stormont was the first member of the Marist club to be selected for the Kiwis. He played in all 3 tests in the #10 prop position against the touring England team in 1920. Carlaw Park
Carlaw Park was a multi-purpose stadium in Parnell, New Zealand, Parnell, a central suburb of Auckland, New Zealand. It neighboured the Auckland Domain's Northern end. It was primarily used for rugby league and had a peak spectator capacity of around 28,000 in the 1930s, though this fell to around 17,000 by the time the ground was closed in 2002. Eden Park
Eden Park is New Zealand's largest sports stadium, with a capacity of 50,000.
