Tom Andrews (cricketer)
Thomas David Andrews (born 7 October 1994) is an Australian cricketer. He is an all-rounder who bats left-handed and bowls slow left-arm orthodox deliveries. He plays for Tasmania, having previously played for South Australia, the Adelaide Strikers and the Melbourne Renegades. Youth career Born in Darwin, Northern Territory, Andrews started his cricket career playing for the Darwin Eagles. He represented the Northern Territory in both Under-17 and Under-19 National Championships and started playing for South Australia Under-23s in the Futures League in 2012. Andrews also represented Australia at under-19 level, his best performance being a five-wicket haul against Zimbabwe in a thumping 147-run win. In total Andrews played 16 Youth ODIs for Australia, including at the 2014 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, taking 26 wickets. Bowling Average
In cricket, a player's bowling average is the number of runs they have conceded per wicket taken. The lower the bowling average is, the better the bowler is performing. It is one of a number of statistics used to compare bowlers, commonly used alongside the economy rate and the strike rate to judge the overall performance of a bowler. When a bowler has taken only a small number of wickets, their bowling average can be artificially high or low, and unstable, with further wickets taken or runs conceded resulting in large changes to their bowling average. In cricket, a player's batting average is the total number of runs they have scored divided by the number of times they have been out, usually given to two decimal places. Since the number of runs a player scores and how often they get out are primarily measures of their own playing ability, and largely independent of their teammates, batting average is a good metric for an individual player's skill as a batter (although the practice of drawing comparisons between players on this basis is not without criticism). Australia National Performance Squad
The National Performance Squad, also known as the Australia National Performance Squad, is a cricket team established by Cricket Australia in 2014 to give experience for young Australian state contracted players in international List A cricket. Since 2016 the squad has played no List A matches, but has concentrated on its winter training program which runs from May to August. 2014 In February 2014, 22 players aged between 18 and 23 were selected to undertake training at the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane during the Australian winter, when the weather in southern Queensland is generally mild and dry. The 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was a one-day cricket competition for sixteen international U-19 cricketing teams which was played in the United Arab Emirates. This was the tenth edition of the tournament. Sixteen nations competed: the ten Test-playing teams, the United Arab Emirates as hosts, and five additional associate and affiliate qualifiers (Afghanistan, Canada, Namibia, Papua New Guinea, and Scotland).
