Together (Italy)
Together ( it, Insieme), whose complete name was Italy Europe Together (''Italia Europa Insieme'', IEI), was a broadly progressive coalition of political parties in Italy that was part of the centre-left coalition for the 2018 general election. Giulio Santagata
Giulio Santagata (born 1 October 1949) is an Italian politician, former member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies and leader of Together. Biography Giulio Santagata was born in Zocca, near Modena, in 1949. He graduated in Economy and Commerce at the University of Bologna; then he started working for the region Emilia-Romagna, but after few years he abandoned this job to become a tax advisor. In 1996 he was appointed economic councilor by Prime Minister Romano Prodi; when Prodi became President of the European Commission in 1999, Santagata followed him in Brussels. In 2001 Santagata was elected in the Italian Chamber of Deputies. In 2006 Santaagata was the main coordinator of Prodi's electoral campaign for the general election, which Prodi narrowly won against the centre-right led by Silvio Berlusconi. Italian Left
Italian Left ( it, Sinistra Italiana, SI) is a left-wing political party in Italy. SI was launched in November 2015 as a parliamentary group in the Chamber of Deputies (full name: Italian Left – Left Ecology Freedom), including Left Ecology Freedom (SEL), dissidents from the Democratic Party like Future to the Left, and splinters from the Five Star Movement. At its launch, SI included 32 deputies, who were soon followed by 8 senators (who formed a sub-group within the Mixed Group of the Senate in February 2016), and 2 MEPs. SI was officially formed as a full-fledged party in February 2017, after SEL had chosen to merge into it in December 2016. The party is led by Nicola Fratoianni. Imola (; rgn, Jômla or ) is a city and ''comune'' in the Metropolitan City of Bologna, located on the river Santerno, in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. ''Serse'' (; English title: ''Xerxes''; HWV 40) is an opera seria in three acts by George Frideric Handel. It was first performed in London on 15 April 1738. The Italian libretto was adapted by an unknown hand from that by Silvio Stampiglia (1664–1725) for an earlier opera of the same name by Giovanni Bononcini in 1694. Stampiglia's libretto was itself based on one by Nicolò Minato (ca.1627–1698) that was set by Francesco Cavalli in 1654. The opera is set in Persia (modern-day Iran) about 470 BC and is very loosely based upon Xerxes I of Persia. Serse, originally sung by a mezzo-soprano castrato, is now usually performed by a female mezzo-soprano or countertenor. Progressive Area ( it, Area Progressista, AP) was a democratic-socialist political party in Italy. AP is mainly composed of former members of Progressive Camp (CP), a tentative party founded and briefly led by Giuliano Pisapia, who finally decided not to run and declared CP's experience over. The Popular Civic List ( it, Civica Popolare, CP) was a centrist coalition of political parties in Italy. Its leader is Beatrice Lorenzin, minister of Health from 2013 to 2018 and member of Popular Alternative.
