Toby Sandeman
Toby Sandeman (born 2 March 1988) is an English actor, international model and double gold medalist who represented Great Britain in the 200 metres. He won the 200 m at the UK Athletics national championships in 2009, and followed this with two gold medals at the European Athletics U23 Championships. He has modelled for Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, and worked with Naomi Campbell for ''Vogue'' magazine. Hammersmith is a district of West London, England, southwest of Charing Cross. 60 Metres
60 metres, or 60-meter dash, is a sprint event in track and field. It is a championship event for indoor championships, normally dominated by the best outdoor 100 metres runners. At outdoor venues it is a rare distance, at least for senior athletes. The format of the event is similar to other sprint distances. The sprinters follow three initial instructions: 'ready', instructing them to take up position in the starting blocks; 'set', instructing them to adopt a more efficient starting posture, which also isometrically preloads their muscles. This will enable them to start faster. The final instruction is the firing of the starter's pistol. Upon hearing this the sprinters stride forwards from the blocks. Great Britain and Northern Ireland (often referred to as ''Great Britain'') is competing at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics from 15–23 August. UK Athletics announced a team of 60 athletes in July in preparation for the competition, although it was known that some athletes might not compete due to injury. Christine Ohuruogu entered the competition as the defending 400 metres champion. Selected athletes had achieved one of the competition's qualifying standards. Ohuruogu, Jessica Ennis, and Phillips Idowu were identified as the athletes with the greatest chance of winning a gold medal; two of them succeeded. The team included the defending 400m gold and silver medallists, Ohuruogu and Nicola Sanders, respectively. Ryan Scott (athlete)
Ryan Scott (born 22 February 1987 in Bristol) is an English sprint runner from Henleaze who competes in the 100 metres. His first international appearances for Great Britain came in 2007. He ran in the 60 metres at the 2007 European Athletics Indoor Championships, but was disqualified in the final while his running mates Jason Gardener and Craig Pickering took gold and silver. In the summer he entered the 100 m at the 2007 European Athletics U23 Championships and recorded a personal best of 10.28 seconds in the heats. He did not make the final, however, as he was fifth in the semis. In 2008 he set two new personal bests, running 6.59 seconds over 60 m and recording a mark of 10.20 seconds for the 100 m. The 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics () were held in Berlin, Germany from 15–23 August 2009. The majority of events took place in the Olympiastadion, while the marathon and racewalking events started and finished at the Brandenburg Gate. Jeffrey Lawal-Balogun (born 2 July 1986) is a London-based British track athlete. Balogun began his career when he joined Kent AC at the age of 19. Balogun competes across 60m 100m and 200m distances, and has represented Great Britain at U23 and Senior level. He is coached by Clarence Callender, the 1998 Olympic 4x100m Silver medallist. Biography Balogun lives in Mottingham, South London, and attended the University of East London, studying marketing.
