Toby Radloff
Toby Radloff (born December 12, 1957) is a former file clerk and actor who became a minor celebrity owing to his appearances in Cleveland writer Harvey Pekar's autobiographical comic book series ''American Splendor''. Radloff has a distinctive manner of speech and quirky mannerisms. He is a self-proclaimed "Genuine Nerd". Career Radloff met Pekar in 1980 when Radloff was hired at Cleveland's Veterans Administration Hospital, and shortly became a recurring character in ''American Splendor''. Television profiles of Pekar at work at the VA Hospital, in which Radloff appeared, led to Radloff being featured as a "special correspondent" in a few short comedic pieces on MTV in the late 1980s about Cleveland and White Castle hamburgers (a particular favorite of Radloff's). Wayne Alan Harold
Wayne Alan Harold (born November 7, 1964) is an American independent editor, publisher and filmmaker who lives in Kent, Ohio. During his career he has formed lasting creative relationships with both Toby Radloff and P. Craig Russell. Harold is a 1988 graduate of Kent State University with a degree in communications and film. Soon after graduating from Kent State, Harold began producing short comedic segments for MTV about Cleveland-based "genuine nerd" Toby Radloff. In the 1990s, Harold co-created the cult horror comedy feature films '' Killer Nerd'' and '' Bride of Killer Nerd'', both of which starred Radloff. He continued working with Radloff in the 1999 cult film ''Townies'', and then the 2006 documentary ''Genuine Nerd''. Harold's 2009 documentary, ''Night Music: The Art of P. Manuel Rodriguez (March 2, 1940 – November 28, 2012), better known as Spain or Spain Rodriguez, was an American underground cartoonist who created the character Trashman. His experiences on the road with the motorcycle club, the Road Vultures M.C., provided inspiration for his work, as did his left-wing politics. Strongly influenced by 1950s EC Comics illustrator Wally Wood, Spain pushed Wood's sharp, crisp black shadows and hard-edged black outlines into a more simplified, stylized direction. James Sherman (comics)
James Sherman (b. 1948) is an artist known for his work in American comic books, movies, and logos. Career James Sherman is an artist and colorist who worked for DC Comics and Marvel Comics in the 1970s and 1980s. His first professional comics art appeared in ''Tarzan Family'' #65 and ''Blackhawk'' #248 (both cover dated Sept.–Oct. 1976). He drew the Challengers of the Unknown lead feature in ''Super-Team Family'' #8–10 in collaboration with writer Steve Skeates and inker Jack Abel.
