Tobias Bernhoft
Tobias Brodtkorp Bernhoft (5 December 1869 – 20 August 1936) was a Norwegian engineer and director. He was born on 5 December 1869 to Tobias Bernhoft senior (1841-1872) and his wife Thora (1848-1910) at Strinda. He married Marie Holmboe on 30 September 1896, with whom he had four children. Among them was the famous singer Bias Bernhoft. Bernhoft studied at Kristiania tekniske skole ("Kristiania School of Technics") from 1889 to 1891. In the same year as he left the school, Bernhoft was hired by the Norwegian State Railways. He became the engineer of the constructions of the Gjøvik, Bergen, Roa-Hønefoss, Rauma and Solør Lines. In 1911, Bernhoft was appointed chief engineer of the Dovre Line. Bernhoft became the managing director of Holmenkolbanen in 1914, succeeding Finn Sejersted. Tobias Brodtkorb "Bias" Bernhoft (13 October 1902 – 24 November 1986) was a Norwegian singer and revue writer. Early and personal life He was born at Voss in 1902 to the Holmenkolbanen director Tobias Bernhoft (1869–1937) and his wife Marie Holmboe (1877–1974). He married Margit Haug (1908–98), a daughter of the hotel director Petter Haug (1875–1939) and Dorthea Olava Olsen (1878–1962). Bernhoft had two children with her, Unni Elisabeth Bernhoft (born on 4 March 1933) and Inger Marie Bernhoft (born on 29 January 1938). Unni Elisabeth Bernhoft married Bjørn Sand, and made her debut at Chat Noir in 1953. Career Bernhoft made his debut in the revue "Hvisk det Høyt" ( en, Whisper it Loud) at the theatre ''Casino'' in 1926 in Oslo. Two years later, he opened a tobacco shop at Majorstuen. Finn Sejersted

He was born in Trondheim, Nord-Trøndelag in 1868, and studied at Trondhjems tekniske Skole ("Trondheim School of Technology") between 1887 and 1890. After he finished studying, he was hired by the Norwegian State Railways, where he worked as an installation director of the Solør, Sætesdal and Gjøvik Lines. In 1897, Sejersted became managing director of Holmenkolbanen, at an age of 29 years. He succeeded Albert Fenger-Krog, and was the acting director when Holmenkolbanen opened the Holmenkoll Line in 1898. Following the 1912 Valkyrie plass tunnel collapse, Sejersted became depressed of the criticism he received, and died aged 46, on 22 January 1914. A/S Holmenkolbanen was a company that owned and operated part of the Oslo Tramway and Oslo Metro in Norway from 1898 until 1975 when services were taken over by the majority owner Oslo Sporveier. Holmenkolbanen opened the Holmenkoll Line in 1898, and expanded it to become the first Nordic underground railway in 1928. Vygruppen, branded as Vy, is a government-owned railway company which operates most passenger train services and many bus services in Norway. The company is owned by the Norwegian Ministry of Transport. Its sub-brands include Vy Buss coach services, CargoNet freight trains and the Swedish train transport company Tågkompaniet. In 2009, NSB carried 52 million train passengers and 104 million bus passengers. On 24 April 2019, passenger train and bus services were rebranded as Vy. The company was established as the Norwegian State Railways (1883–1996). Olav Braarud
Olav Braarud (2 February 1885 – 4 April 1969) was a Norwegian director and engineer. Born in Verdal, Nordre Trondhjems Amt, he travelled to Darmstadt, Germany, where he graduated as an engineer in 1910. In 1912, he became operational engineer of the company Holmenkolbanen, which owned and operated the Holmenkollen Line in Oslo, Norway. In 1934, Braarud was promoted to incorporated engineer of Holmenkolbanen. He was made responsible for the finishing of the Sognsvann and Røa Lines, which opened in 1934 and 1935, respectively. Following the death of Tobias Bernhoft in 1937, Braarud became the managing director of Holmenkolbanen. Even though the board of Holmenkolbanen was occupied by Nasjonal Samling and nazi military during World War II, Braarud remained managing director of the company during the war.
