To Drink The Rainbow
''To Drink the Rainbow (An Anthology 1988–2019)'' is a compilation album by the British singer-songwriter Tanita Tikaram, which was released by Needle Mythology in 2019. Background ''To Drink the Rainbow'' was curated by Peter Paphides, the founder of Needle Mythology, with assistance from Tikaram. As a fan of Tikaram's work, Paphides wanted to compile a compilation that focused on her later, post-teenage work. As a result, tracks from Tikaram's first two albums, ''Ancient Heart'' (1988) and ''The Sweet Keeper'' (1990) are omitted, although an acoustic version of "Valentine Heart" is included as a bonus track. Tracks from ''Lovers in the City'' were also omitted. The compilation was released on CD and vinyl LP, with the latter being limited edition, containing a two-track seven-inch EP, a signed lyric sheet and postcard. Tanita Tikaram
Tanita Tikaram (born 12 August 1969) is a British pop/folk singer-songwriter. She achieved chart success with the singles " Twist in My Sobriety" and " Good Tradition" from her 1988 debut album, ''Ancient Heart''. Background Tikaram was born in Münster, West Germany, the daughter of an Indo-Fijian British Army officer, Pramod Tikaram, and a Sarawakian mother, Fatimah Rohani. Her father's military career meant that she spent her early life in Germany before moving to Basingstoke, Hampshire, England when she was in her early teens. She is the younger sister of the actor Ramon Tikaram and the great-niece of Sir Moti Tikaram, who was the first Lord Chief Justice of an independent Fiji and the world's longest-serving national ombudsman. Earmusic released the song on 22 April 2016 as the second single from her ninth studio album '' Closer to the People''. Rod Argent
Rodney Terence Argent (born 14 June 1945) is an English musician, singer, songwriter, composer, and record producer. In a career spanning more than 50 years, Argent came to prominence in the mid 1960s as the keyboardist, founder and leader of the English rock band the Zombies, and went on to form the band Argent after the first break-up of the Zombies. Argent is one of the main composers of the Zombies' music and made major lyrical contributions to the band's songs. Peter Van Hooke
Peter Van Hooke (born 6 April 1950) is an English rock drummer and producer with over 350 credits to his name. He was the drummer for the English band Mike + The Mechanics (from 1984 to 1995) and also drummed for Van Morrison's band, Headstone, and Ezio. Neil Brockbank (February 1951 – 30 May 2017) was a British record producer, audio engineer and bass player. He is known for working in close collaboration with Nick Lowe spanning 25 years, producing all of Lowe's albums since 1994's ''The Impossible Bird''. Career Before working in music production and engineering, Brockbank was a member of the 1970s folk rock band Wooden Horse then later the new wave band the Hitmen. Peter Paphides (born 1969 as Panayiotakis Paphides or Panayiotis Paphides) is a British journalist and broadcaster. Early life Paphides was born in Birmingham to a Greek Cypriot father, Chris, and a Greek mother, Victoria. He has an elder brother, Aki. His father ran the 'Great Western' fish bar in Acocks Green, and the family lived upstairs. In 1979, the family moved to the suburb of Olton, where his father ran the 'King Fisher' (now 'George's Fish Bar'). Marco Sabiu (born 1 September 1963) is an Italian-born musician and composer who has worked with Take That, Kylie Minogue, Lydia Canaan, Barry Blue, Christopher Lee, and made music for television. Giulio Rapetti (born 17 August 1936), in art Mogol (), is an Italian music lyricist. He is best known for his collaborations with Lucio Battisti, Gianni Bella, Adriano Celentano and Mango (singer), Mango. Career Mogol was born in Milan. His father, Mariano Rapetti, was an important director of the Casa Ricordi, Ricordi record label, and had been in his own time a successful lyricist of the 1950s. Young Giulio, who was likewise employed by Ricordi as a public relations expert, began his own career as a lyricist against his father's wishes. ''Closer to the People'' is the ninth studio album by the British singer Tanita Tikaram. The record was released on 11 March 2016 through Ear Music, an imprint of German-based label Edel Music. The album also produced two singles: "Glass Love Train" and "The Way You Move". Background ''Closer to the People'' is Tikaram's first album in four years. Like her previous album '' Can't Go Back'', it was released through Ear Music. Tikaram released a videoclip for the song "Food on My Table" in December 2015, although she stated this record was not the first single of the album. He is widely recognized for songs that defined the late 1960s and 1970s era of Italian songwriting.
