Titleholder (horse)
Titleholder (Japanese: タイトルホルダー, foaled 10 February 2018) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse. He showed very promising form as a two-year-old in 2020 when he won his first start before finishing second in the Tokyo Sports Hai Nisai Stakes and fourth in the Hopeful Stakes. In the following spring he won the Yayoi Sho and ran second in the Satsuki Sho before returning in the autumn to record his biggest win in the Kikuka Sho. He improved again as a four-year-old when he added victories in the Nikkei Sho, Tenno Sho (Spring) and Takarazuka Kinen. Background Titleholder is a bay colt with a white stripe bred in Japan by the Okada Stud. As a foal in 2018 he was consigned to the Select Sale and was bought for ¥21,600,000 by Hiroshi Yamada. Duramente
Duramente ( ja, ドゥラメンテ, link=no, 22 March 2012 – 31 August 2021) was a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse. In 2015 he completed the first two legs of the Japanese Triple Crown by winning the Satsuki Shō and the Tokyo Yūshun before his season was ended by injury. He returned in 2016 to win the Nakayama Kinen and finish second in the Dubai Sheema Classic before his racing career was ended by a leg injury sustained in the Takarazuka Kinen. He made a promising start to his career as a breeding stallion before dying at the age of nine. Background Duramente was a bay horse with a white coronet marking on his left hind leg, bred in Japan by Northern Racing. His sire, King Kamehameha was one of the best Japanese colts of his generation, beating a field including Heart's Cry and Daiwa Major in the 2004 Japanese Derby. On The House (20 March 1979 – 1999) was a British-bred, British-trined Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare best known for winning the classic 1000 Guineas in 1982. She was one of the best British two-year-old fillies of 1981 when she won two races and finished second in the Cheveley Park Stakes. In the following spring she ran poorly in her first race but then recorded an upset victory in the 169th running of the 1000 Guineas. After being beaten in her next two races she again upset the odds by winning the all-aged Sussex Stakes. After her retirement from racing she had some success as a broodmare and is the female-line ancestor of Cracksman. Hanshin Racecourse
is located in Takarazuka, Hyogo, Japan. It has a capacity of 139,000 and it is used for horse racing. The land was originally owned by Kawanishi Aircraft Company, which manufactured combat planes during World War II. After the World War II, GHQ ordered the company to stop manufacturing combat planes, which ended in closing the factory. In 1949, Keihanshin Keiba K.K. built the Hanshin Racecourse. The racecourse was transferred to Japan Racing Association in 1955. A major reconstruction was completed in 1991, and another in 2006. St Lite Kinen
The St Lite Kinen is a Japanese Grade 2 flat horse race in Japan for three-year-old Thoroughbred colts and fillies run over a distance of 2,200 metres at the Nakayama Racecourse, Funabashi, Chiba. The race is run in September and serves as the main trial race for the Kikuka Sho. It was first run in 1947 and was named in honour of the Japanese Triple Crown St Lite. Among the winners of the race have been Symboli Rudolf, Legacy World and Nakayama Festa. The race was run at Tokyo Racecourse from 1947 until 1956 and in 1966, 1968, 1974, and 1976–1979. Shahryar, ( ja, シャフリヤール, link=no, foaled 13 April 2018) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse. He won his only start as a juvenile in 2020 and made rapid improvement in the following spring as he ran third in the Tokinominoru Kinen before taking the Mainichi Hai and Tokyo Yushun. Background Shahryar is a dark bay or brown horse with a white star and white socks on his hind legs bred in Japan by Northern Farm. Efforia ( ja, エフフォーリア, link=no foaled 10 March 2018) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse. After winning two minor races as a two-year-old in 2020 he won the Kyodo Tsushin Hai on his first run of 2021 and maintained his unbeaten record by taking the Satsuki Sho on his next start. He was narrowly beaten in the Tokyo Yushun but returned in autumn to win the Tenno Sho and the Arima Kinen. is located in Fuchu, Tokyo, Japan. Built in 1933 for horse racing, it is considered the "racecourse of racecourses" in Japanese horseracing. It has a capacity of 223,000, with seating for 13,750. Graded Stakes Race
A graded stakes race is a thoroughbred horse race in the United States that meets the criteria of the American Graded Stakes Committee of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA). A specific grade level (I, II, III or listed) is then assigned to the race, based on statistical analysis of the quality of the field in previous years, provided the race meets the minimum purse criteria for the grade in question. In Canada, a similar grading system is maintained by the Jockey Club of Canada. Graded stakes races are similar to Group races in Europe but the grading is more dynamic in North America. Odds provide a measure of the likelihood of a particular outcome. They are calculated as the ratio of the number of events that produce that outcome to the number that do not.
