Titas River
The Titas River ( bn, তিতাস ''Titās''; also Romanized Titash) is a transboundary river that merges into the Meghna river and forms part of the Surma-Meghna River System. Titas starts its journey from the Tripura State, with Haora as one of its right tributaries. The river is long and joins Meghna river near Ashuganj, Brahmanbaria. Bangladesh's first Y-shaped bridge is over this river connecting Comilla and Brahmanbaria. Geography Titas Gas, the biggest natural gas reserve of Bangladesh located in Brahmanbaria, which supplies gas to capital Dhaka, is named after this river. One of the offshoots of the Meghna river is also named as the Titas which branches out from the Meghna at Chatlapur and again meets the Meghna at Nabinagar Upazila The river has become narrow and shallow in many places due to siltation. Titash Ekti Nadir Naam
''Titas Ekti Nadir Naam'' ( bn, তিতাস একটি নদীর নাম), or ''A River Called Titas'', is a 1973 film that was a joint production between India and Bangladesh directed by Ritwik Ghatak. The movie was based on a novel by the same name, written by Adwaita Mallabarman. The movie explores the life of the fishermen on the bank of the Titas River in Brahmanbaria, Bangladesh. Rosy Samad, Golam Mostafa, Kabori, Prabir Mitra, and Roushan Jamil acted in the main roles.Silver Jubilee, Bangladesh Film Archive celebrations, Events on the 2nd day Ersahad Kamol, The Daily Star, 11 June 2004. The Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company ( bn, তিতাস গ্যাস ''Titas Gas'') is the natural gas distributor in Bangladesh, with an 80% market share. As of 2020, they employed 2,100 staff and served 2.8 million domestic customers, 12,000 commercial customers, and 5,300 industrial customers. It is responsible for gas distribution in Dhaka and Mymensingh. History Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company was established on 20 November 1964 following the discovery of gas in Titas in 1962. On 28 April 1968, commercial activities started with the supply of gas to Siddhirganj Thermal Power Station through the Titas-Demra gas pipeline. The pipeline was constructed by East Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation. Titãs
Titãs () are a Brazilian rock band from São Paulo. Though they basically play pop/alternative rock, their music has touched a number of other styles throughout their 30-year career, such as new wave, punk rock, grunge, MPB and electronic music. They are one of the most successful rock bands in Brazil, having sold more than 6.3 million albums as of 2005 and having been covered by several well-known Brazilian artists and a couple of international singers. They were awarded a Latin Grammy in 2009 and have won the Imprensa Trophy for Best Band a record four times. Titãs (album)
''Titãs'' is the debut album of Brazilian rock band Titãs. It is the only album to feature André Jung on drums. The album also features Pena Schmidt's production and some contributions from vocalist Ciro Pessoa, who founded the band only to quit before the album was released. Though the album sold poorly (less than 50,000 copies by the time of its release), it generated some hit singles and secured some performances at popular TV shows such as the ones presented by Chacrinha and Hebe Camargo. By August 1997, its total sales were at 109,000. In its cover, there is a picture of the members in which they appear to be slightly pending to their right, but in reality they were all standing straight. The photograph was taken in a ramp-like surface and later adjusted in the cover so that all members were aligned. Titas ( bn, তিতাস) is an upazila of Comilla District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh. It has a rich heritage of culture and tradition. This upazilla was formerly under Daudkandi upazilla. In 2005, it has been made a entirely new upazilla. History Titas was created in 2004. It split with nine Unions from Daudkandi Upazila. The name Titas named after the river Titas. Then minister and local MP Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain proposed the name. Comilla District, officially known as Cumilla District, is a district of Bangladesh located about 100 kilometres south east of Dhaka. Comilla is bordered by Brahmanbaria and Narayanganj districts to the north, Noakhali and Feni districts to the south, Tripura of India to the east and Munshiganj and Chandpur districts to the west.
