Tipperary Senior Hurling Team Season 2014
The 2014 season was Eamon O'Shea's second year as manager of the Tipperary senior hurling team. In October 2013, Brendan Maher was named as the new Tipperary captain for 2014. A statement from the County board read as follows "Tipperary County Board is pleased to announce that the senior hurling management team have appointed Brendan Maher (Borris-Ileigh) as captain and Noel McGrath (Loughmore Castleiney) as vice captain of the Tipperary senior hurling team for 2014." In December 2013, Skoda Ireland announced the extension of its sponsorship of Tipperary GAA another year. The new 2014 Tipperary strip was also unveiled which features an 1884 motif to commemorate 130 years of Tipperary GAA. On 7 February Tipperary won the Waterford Crystal Cup after a 4–22 to 3–11 win against Clare in the final. Tipperary County Hurling Team
The Tipperary county hurling team represents Tipperary in hurling and is governed by Tipperary GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Munster Senior Hurling Championship and the National Hurling League. Tipperary's home ground is Semple Stadium, Thurles. The team's manager is Liam Cahill. Niall O'Meara
Niall O'Meara (born 16 December 1992) is an Irish hurler who plays for Tipperary Senior Championship club Kilruane MacDonagh's and formerly at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a left wing-forward. Playing career Mary Immaculate College During his studies at Mary Immaculate College, O'Meara was selected for the college's senior hurling team during his second year. On 27 February 2016, he was selected at right wing-forward but spent much of the game at left corner-forward when Mary Immaculate College faced the University of Limerick in the Fitzgibbon Cup final. O'Meara ended the game with a winners' medal following the 1-30 to 3-22 victory. Kilruane MacDonagh's O'Meara joined the Kilruane MacDonagh's club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage levels. Thomas Stapleton (hurler)
Thomas Stapleton (born 22 February 1988) is an Irish hurler who currently plays as a right wing-back for the Tipperary senior team. Stapleton made his first appearance for the team during the 2007 National League and has become a regular player over the last few seasons. Since then he has won one Munster winners' medal on the field of play. At club level Stapleton is a county intermediate championship medalist with Templederry Kenyons. Thurles Sarsfields GAA
Thurles Sarsfields is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the "Mid-Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred in the town of Thurles at Semple Stadium. The club was founded in 1881 and is the most honoured club in the history of the county championship with 36 County Titles. Michael Cahill (hurler)
Michael Cahill (born 3 January 1989) is an Irish hurler who currently plays as a left corner-back for the Tipperary senior team. Cahill made his first appearance for the team during the 2009 National League and has become a regular player over the last few seasons. During that time he has won two All-Ireland winners' medals, four Munster winners' medals and one All-Star award. He has ended up as an All-Ireland runner-up on three occasions. At club level Cahill is a six-time county club championship medalist with Thurles Sarsfield's and has also won the Munster Senior Club Hurling Championship on one occasion. Mullinahone-CJ Kickhams GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association located in Mullinahone, south County Tipperary, Ireland, close to the border with County Kilkenny. The Mullinahone Club is named in honour of Charles J. Kickham, "Poet and Patriot", who was born in the village. Paul Curran (hurler)
Paul Curran (born 11 November 1981) is an Irish hurler who played as a full-back for the Tipperary senior team. Born in Mullinahone, County Tipperary, Curran first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he first linked up with the Tipperary minor teams as a dual player before later joining the under-21 hurling side. He joined the senior panel during the 2001 championship. Curran subsequently became a regular member of the starting fifteen and won one All-Ireland medal, four Munster medals and one National Hurling League medal. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on three occasions. As a member of the Munster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions, Curran won one Railway Cup medal. Éire Óg Annacarty GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in the parish of Anacarty & Donohill, in west County Tipperary in Ireland. History The Éire Óg club's most notable player of the modern era is Pat Fox, All-Ireland medallist for senior hurling in 1989 and 1991 during which period he was a leading scorer in the All-Ireland and Munster Championships. Conor O'Brien (born 30 May 1985) is an Irish hurler who played as a corner back for the Tipperary senior team from 2007 until 2016. James Barry (hurler)
James Barry (born 29 June 1990) is an Irish hurling, hurler who plays for Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship, Tipperary Senior Championship club Upperchurch–Drombane GAA, Upperchurch–Drombane. He played for the Tipperary senior hurling team for six seasons, during which time he usually lined out in defence as a centre-back and later as a full-back.
