Ronan Maher (hurler)
Ronan Maher (born 9 October 1995) is an Irish hurler who plays for Tipperary Senior Championship club Thurles Sarsfields and at inter-county level alongside his brother Pádraic with the Tipperary senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a left wing-back. Playing career Thurles CBS Maher first came to prominence as a hurler with Thurles CBS. He played in every grade before eventually joining the college's senior team and lined out in several Harty Cup campaigns. Mary Immaculate College During his studies at Mary Immaculate College, Maher was selected for the college's senior hurling team during his second year. On 27 February 2016, he lined out at right wing-back when Mary Immaculate College faced the University of Limerick in the Fitzgibbon Cup final. Thurles
Thurles (; ''Durlas Éile'') is a town in County Tipperary, Ireland. It is located in the civil parish of the same name in the barony of Eliogarty and in the ecclesiastical parish of Thurles. The cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly is located in the town. Location and access Thurles is located in mid-County Tipperary and is surrounded by the Silvermine Mountains (to the northwest) and the Slieveardagh Hills (to the southeast). Drom & Inch GAA is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the "Mid-Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred on the villages Drom, Inch and Barnane which lie near the Devil's Bit mountain range. The club's main grounds is located in Bouladuff, five miles outside Thurles. 2012 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship
The 2012 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship was the 82nd staging of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. The championship began on 21 April 2012 and ended on 30 September 2012. Galway entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Tipperary in the All-Ireland semi-final. On 30 September 2012, Tipperary won the championship following a 2-18 to 1-11 defeat of Dublin in a replay of the All-Ireland final. This was their 19th All-Ireland title and their first title since 2007. It was Tipperary and Dublin's first meeting in an All-Ireland final since 1954. 2022 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship
The 2022 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 132nd staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887. The defending champions were Loughmore–Castleiney, who were defeated by Drom & Inch at the quarter-final stage. The competition was overshadowed by the death of Clonoulty–Rossmore hurler Dillon Quirke, who collapsed after 28 minutes of play in a game against Kilruane at Semple Stadium on Friday evening, 5 August 2022. The game was abandoned and other matches were immediately called off. On 30 October, Kilruane MacDonaghs defeated Kiladangan 2–20 to 1–16 in the final after a replay to win their first title since 1985. 2017 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship
The 2017 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 127th staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887. The draw for the group stage placings took place on 23 January 2017. The championship began on 28 April 2017 and ended on 8 October 2017. Thurles Sarsfields were the defending champions and entered the championship in search of a fourth successive title. Ballina and Burgess were relegated after finishing bottom of the relegation group. The final was played on 8 October 2017 at Semple Stadium in Thurles, between Thurles Sarsfields and Borris-Ileigh, in their first meeting in a final in 62 years. The 2016 Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship was the 126th staging of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Tipperary County Board in 1887. The first round of the Championship began on 9 April. Thurles Sarsfields were the defending champions. Thurles Sarsfields played Kiladangan in the final, a repeat of the 1938 decider, Kiladangan's last appearance in the final. The final was played in Semple Stadium on 16 October, with Thurles Sarsfields winning the game by 0–27 to 1–15 in front of 6,546 spectators. Tipperary and Thurles legend Mickey Byrne died at age 93 on the morning of the match. It was a third successive win for Thurles, and the first time they've won three-in-a-row since the 1960s. Kildangan GAA (Tipperary)
Kiladangan GAA is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Hurling is the main sport which is played in the "North Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred on the village of Puckane but includes the areas of Ballycommon, Monsea and Dromineer near Nenagh. Kiladangan was formerly known as Kildangan GAA, however in January 2016 the club reverted to its former name of Kiladangan GAA. At the present time both club names are used interchangeably.
