Tipperary Senior Hurling Team Season 2019
The 2019 season was Liam Sheedy's first year in charge since returning as manager of the Tipperary senior hurling team, having been previously in charge from 2008 to 2010. The team were sponsored by world leading CEO advisory firm Teneo for the first year in a deal worth up to €180,000 a year on a rolling 12-month contract. On 24 September 2018, Liam Sheedy was appointed as the new manager of the Tipperary senior hurling team on a three-year term. In October 2018, Tommy Dunne was named as the coach of the senior hurlers with Darragh Egan also added to the back-room team as goalkeeping coach. Paddy O’Brien (physio) and Cairbre O Caireallan (strength and conditioning) were also named in October as part of Sheedy’s management team. Tipperary County Hurling Team
The Tipperary county hurling team represents Tipperary in hurling and is governed by Tipperary GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Munster Senior Hurling Championship and the National Hurling League. Tipperary's home ground is Semple Stadium, Thurles. The team's manager is Liam Cahill. The team last won the Munster Senior Championship in 2016, the All-Ireland Senior Championship in 2019 and the National League in 2008. Noel McGrath (hurler)
Noel McGrath (born 17 December 1990) is an Irish hurler who plays for Tipperary Senior Championship club Loughmore-Castleiney and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. He usually lines out as at midfield. Playing career Our Lady's Secondary School McGrath first came to prominence as a hurler with Our Lady's Secondary School in Templemore. On 6 December 2006, he scored 1-03 from midfield when Our Lady's Secondary School defeated De La Salle by 1-10 to 2-04 to win the Dean Ryan Cup. University College Dublin During his studies at University College Dublin, McGrath joined the university's senior hurling team in his second year. Nenagh Éire Óg GAA is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the "North-Tipperary" divisional competitions. Barry Heffernan
Barry Heffernan (born 26 August 1995) is an Irish hurler who plays for Tipperary Senior Championship club Nenagh Éire Óg and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a left corner-back. Playing career University of Limerick As a student at the University of Limerick, Heffernan joined the senior hurling team during his second year. On 27 February 2016, he was selected at right wing-back when UL faced Mary Immaculate College in the Fitzgibbon Cup final. Heffernan ended the game on the losing side following a 1-30 to 3-22 defeat. James Barry (hurler)
James Barry (born 29 June 1990) is an Irish hurling, hurler who plays for Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship, Tipperary Senior Championship club Upperchurch–Drombane GAA, Upperchurch–Drombane. He played for the Tipperary senior hurling team for six seasons, during which time he usually lined out in defence as a centre-back and later as a full-back. Barry began his hurling career at club level with Upperchurch-Drombane. He broke onto the club's top adult team as a 15-year-old in 2005 and has been an ever-present defender since then. As a member of the UCC GAA, University College Cork team, Barry won back-to-back Fitzgibbon Cup titles. Barry lined out for Tipperary in four different grades of hurling over a 12-year period. Cathal Barrett
Cathal Barrett (born 21 July 1993) is an Irish hurler who plays for Tipperary Championship club Holycross–Ballycahill and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a right corner-back. Playing career Thurles CBS Barrett first came to prominence as a hurler with Thurles CBS. He played in every grade before eventually joining the senior hurling team. On 26 February 2010, he lined out at right wing-back when Thurles CBS drew 1-12 apiece with Ardscoil Rís from Limerick in the Harty Cup final. Brian Hogan (born 9 July 1996) is an Irish hurler who plays for North Tipperary club Lorrha and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a goalkeeper. Kildangan GAA (Tipperary)
Kiladangan GAA is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Hurling is the main sport which is played in the "North Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred on the village of Puckane but includes the areas of Ballycommon, Monsea and Dromineer near Nenagh. Kiladangan was formerly known as Kildangan GAA, however in January 2016 the club reverted to its former name of Kiladangan GAA. At the present time both club names are used interchangeably. Hurling club history From the foundation of the club in 1915, teams competed in the various championships in County Tipperary – Senior, Intermediate and Junior under various guises, namely Kiladangan, Kildangan, Ballycommon, Carney, Knigh and Lahorna.
