Tipperary Senior Hurling Team Season 2016
The 2016 season was Michael Ryan's first year as manager of the Tipperary senior hurling team. In October 2014, it had been confirmed that assistant manager Michael Ryan would succeed Eamon O'Shea as the Tipperary manager after the conclusion of the 2015 season. In November 2015, it was confirmed that Ryan will be assisted by former Tipperary player's John Madden as a selector and Declan Fanning as a coach in 2016. 1995 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship winning captain Brian Horgan was added to the backroom team on 20 November. In January, Conor Stakelum was also added to the management team as a selector. Denis Leamy was also added to the back-room team in July. Brendan Maher was confirmed as captain for 2016 in December 2015 with Pádraic Maher retaining the role of vice-captain. Intersport/Elverys continued as sponsors of Tipperary GAA for the second year. The Tipperary county hurling team represents Tipperary in hurling and is governed by Tipperary GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Munster Senior Hurling Championship and the National Hurling League. Daniel McCormack (born 28 January 1993) is an Irish hurler who plays for Tipperary Senior Championship club Borris–Ileigh and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team. 2010 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship
The 2010 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 114th staging of Ireland's premier hurling competition since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. A total of thirteen teams competed in the championship, with Tipperary unseating the four-time defending champions Kilkenny by 4-17 to 1-18 in the final at Croke Park, Dublin. The championship began on 22 May 2010 and concluded on 5 September 2010. Pre-championship The build-up to the opening of the championship was dominated by Kilkenny and the 'drive for five'.
