Ting Chew Peh
Ting Chew Peh (; born 1943) is a Malaysian politician from the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He was the former member of the Parliament of Malaysia for the Gopeng constituency in Perak for five terms from 1987 to 2008. At the grassroots level, he was known for being the MCA former secretary-general for fifteen years from 1990 to 2005. He is also the chairman of University Council for Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) in Malaysia. Politics and career Ting graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Malaya in 1970 and obtained a master's degree in sociology from the University of London in 1972. He also holds a doctorate in philosophy, which he obtained from the University of Warwick in 1976. Chan Kong Choy
Tan Sri Dato' Sri Chan Kong Choy (; born 17 May 1955) is an adjunct professor at the University of Malaya and was a Malaysian politician and the former deputy president of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA), a component party of the then-ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He was formerly Minister of Transport from 1 July 2003 to 18 March 2008 and has never lost a general election in his political career. Life and career Chan Kong Choy was born in Bentong, Pahang on 17 May 1955 to an ethnic Malaysian Chinese family of Cantonese descent with ancestry from Yunfu, Guangdong, China. 2004 Malaysian General Election
A general election was held on Sunday, 21 March 2004 for members of the 11th Parliament of Malaysia. Voting took place in all 219 parliamentary constituencies of Malaysia, each electing one Member of Parliament to the Dewan Rakyat, the dominant house of Parliament. A general election was held on Monday, 29 November 1999 for members of the 10th Parliament of Malaysia. Voting took place in all 193 parliamentary constituencies of Malaysia, each electing one Member of Parliament to the Dewan Rakyat, the dominant house of Parliament. State elections also took place in 394 state constituencies in 11 out of 13 states of Malaysia (except Sabah and Sarawak) on the same day. Dewan Rakyat
The Dewan Rakyat (English: 'House of Representatives'; ) is the lower house of the bicameral Parliament, the federal legislature of Malaysia. The chamber and its powers are established by Article 44 of the Constitution of Malaysia. The Dewan Rakyat sits in the Houses of Parliament in Kuala Lumpur, along with the Dewan Negara, the upper house. The Dewan Rakyat is a directly elected body consisting of 222 members known as Members of Parliament (MPs). Perak
Perak () is a state of Malaysia on the west coast of the Malay Peninsula.
