Tina Malti
Tina Malti is a Canadian-German child psychologist of Palestinian descent. She is a professor of psychology at the University of Toronto and founding director of thLaboratory for Social-Emotional Development and Intervention as well as founding director of thCentre for Child Development, Mental Health, and Policyat the University of Toronto. Tina is the current president of the International Society for the Study of Behavioural Development (ISSBD). She is known for her research on the affective bases of aggression and prosocial behavior in children, as well as the development and testing of socio-emotional interventions for enhancing kindness and mental health and reducing the negative effects of exposure to violence and trauma in children facing varying levels of adversity. Psychological Trauma
Psychological trauma, mental trauma or psychotrauma is an emotional response to a distressing event or series of events, such as accidents, rape, or natural disasters. Reactions such as psychological shock and psychological denial are typical. Longer-term reactions include unpredictable emotions, flashbacks, difficulties with interpersonal relationships and sometimes physical symptoms including headaches or nausea. Alexander Von Humboldt Professorship
The Alexander von Humboldt Professorship is an academic prize named after Alexander von Humboldt and awarded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation since 2008. The prize is intended to attract internationally leading scientists from abroad to Germany so that they can carry out top-level research there and strengthen Germany as a research location.
