Timōrātus (), also stylized as TIMŌRĀTUS, began in 2006, as a solo project of David Napier. The band was to begin as a metal band, but Napier, who had injured his hands, began the project with a more programmed electronic foundation. The band describes their style as "Multi-genre metal". History The project began in 2006, as a solo project of David Napier. Originally, he recorded a few songs with an electronic-based influence. The project debuted in 2006, with an EP called ''Afraid of the Light'', which featured 5-electronic based songs. Symphony of Heaven is a Christian blackened death metal band from Owensville, Indiana, United States. The band began in 2017 as a solo project, but morphed into a full band by 2019, consisting of Logan Thompson (guitars/vocals), David Napier (bass), Eero Tertsunen (guitars), and Mason Beard (drums). Shadow Puncher is a death metal project that began in 2016 as a solo project of Max Kevin Ølstøren. The band began as a death metal/black metal project out of Trondheim, Norway, releasing demos with hand-drawn art. The band was signed to Nosral Recordings. Vision of God Records is a Christian record label formed by Duane Keith. The label was formed in 2013 in Muskegon, Michigan. The label is primarily known for re-releasing albums with new artwork, mixing and mastering, but they do also have original releases. Stoner Rock
Stoner rock, also known as stoner metal or stoner doom, is a rock music fusion genre that combines elements of doom metal with psychedelic rock and acid rock. The genre emerged during the early 1990s and was pioneered foremost by Kyuss and Sleep. Characteristics Stoner rock is typically slow-to-mid tempo and features a heavily distorted, groove-laden bass-heavy sound, melodic vocals, and "retro" production. Due to the similarities between stoner and sludge metal, there is often a crossover between the two genres. This hybrid has traits of both styles, but generally lacks stoner metal's laid back atmosphere and its usage of psychedelia. Temple of Perdition is a black metal project that began in September 2017, between Ya'akov Nahash, Joonas Heikkinen, and Benainah, out of Texas in the United States and Finland. Shortly after their formation, the band signed with Vision of God Records. History Temple of Perdition began in September 2017, originating with the lineup of Ya'akov Nahash on vocals, guitars, bass, and keyboards, Benaiah on vocals, and Joonas Heikkinen on drums. Heikkinen also performed with bands including The Slave Eye, Angel Of Sodom, and Renascent. The band began writing and recording material, releasing a demo independently in late January 2018. However, the album was quickly taken down as the band signed with Vision of God shortly thereafter and released the demo through the new found outlet. Crimson Thorn
Crimson Thorn is an American Christian death metal band. According to Allmusic, they are "surely one of the world's most extreme-sounding Christian metal bands". Crimson Thorn has performed at Cornerstone Festival and Sonshine Festival. They have also been featured in HM Magazine. History The band was founded in 1991 by members Luke Renno, Dave Quast, Dylan Paul Jenniges, Paul Jongeward and Miles Sunde. They were almost ready to record their first demo when Dylan left, and Luke took his place on the bass. Their demo was entitled ''Plagued'', and was recorded in 1992 at Blue Moon Studios in Minneapolis. After Quast left, Kevin Sundberg joined as the new drummer, and their style changed from thrash metal to death metal. Taking the Head of Goliath is a Christian death metal band that originated in 2015. Background Taking the Head of Goliath started in 2015 with members Jake Martin, Matt Vangsgard and Nathan Sherman. The band later added rhythm guitarist Rob Blake. The band became best known when they hired bassist/backing vocalist Luke Renno of the band Crimson Thorn. The band played their first show at one of For Today's final tour dates. The band has recently signed to Rottweiler Records. Screaming is an extended vocal technique that is popular in "aggressive" music genres such as heavy metal, punk rock, and noise music and others. It is common in the more extreme subgenres of heavy metal, such as death and black metal as well as many other subgenres. Drone metal or drone doom is a style of heavy metal that melds the slow tempos and heaviness of doom metal with the long-duration tones of drone music.
