Timberville (Lagos)
Timberville is a newly built village at the gates of the Nigerian metropolis of Lagos. It is clustered around the new Lagos Sawmill. Makoko
Makoko is an informal settlement across the 3rd Mainland Bridge located on the coast of mainland Lagos. A third of the community is built on stilts along the lagoon and the rest is on the land. The waterfront part of the community is largely harboured by the Egun people who migrated from Badagary and Republic of Benin and whose main occupation is fishing. Makoko is sometimes referred to as the "Venice of Africa" owing to its waterways. Its population is considered to be 85,840; however, the area was not officially counted as part of the 2007 census and the population has been estimated to be much higher. In July 2012, the Lagos State government ordered that some of the stilts beyond the power-lines be brought down without proper notice. Babajide Sanwo-Olu
Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu (born 25 June 1968) is a Nigerian politician and the current Governor of Lagos State. Imota Rice Mill
The Imota rice mill is an agricultural plant in Ikorodu, a suburb of Lagos, Nigeria. It was built in 2021 and will commence full production in the forth quarter of 2022. Description The rice mill in Imota is 22 hectares big, with the mill itself occupying 8.5 hectares. It will be the largest mill in Africa and the third largest mill in the world. The rice mill has a capacity to produce 2.8 million bags of 50kg bags of rice yearly, while generating 1,500 direct jobs and 254,000 indirect jobs. On completion, in line with the estimated installed infrastructure of the facility, the production capacity of the rice mill in Imota will set it among the largest in the world, and the largest in sub-Saharan Africa. Food Logistics Park Lagos
The Lagos Food Security Systems and Central Logistics Park is a logistics centre under construction in Ketu-Ereyun, between Epe and Ikorodu. When completed, it will be the largest food logistics centre in sub-Saharan Africa. Background The annual value of food transactions in Lagos is estimated at USD 10 billion. However, farmers lose 40% of this produce every day because there is no post-harvest storage infrastructure. Ikorodu
Ikorodu is a large city in Lagos State, Nigeria. It is located to the north-east of Lagos, along the Lagos Lagoon and shares boundary with Ogun State. With a population of over 1million inhabitant, Ikorodu is currently the 12 largest city in Nigeria and growing at a rate of 5.26% annually, it is projected to reach 1.7 million inhabitant by 2035, It is the largest local government in Lagos State. Epe, Lagos State
Epe is a town and Local Government Area (LGA) in Lagos State, Nigeria located on the north side of the Lekki Lagoon and about 90 km from Ibadan.
