Tim Smith (Cardiacs)
Timothy Charles Smith (3 July 196121 July 2020) was an English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and music video director. Smith rose to prominence as the frontman of the rock band Cardiacs, which he co-founded with his brother Jim. Besides the Cardiacs discography, Smith also produced several records including The Sea Nymphs' debut album, his first solo LP '' Tim Smith's Extra Special OceanLandWorld'', and the album ''Pony'' with Spratleys Japs. After having a cardiac arrest and multiple strokes in 2008, Smith was diagnosed with dystonia, putting Cardiacs on an indefinite hiatus. He slowly recovered with help of a JustGiving fundraising campaign, and in 2016 he released the Sea Nymphs' ''On the Dry Land''. In 2018, Smith was honoured with the Doctor of Music degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, two years before his death in 2020. Timothy Smith (born July 2, 1982) is an American former professional basketball player who played the point guard position. Smith played collegiately at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) from 2002–03 to 2005–06 before becoming a professional. Basketball career College When Tim Smith entered college in 2002, ETSU was still a member of the Southern Conference. As a freshman in 2002–03 he recorded 475 points, 114 assists and 73 steals. He was named the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year while guiding ETSU as runners-up in the conference's North Division. The Buccaneers also won the 2003 Southern Conference Tournament and earned an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament, but lost to Wake Forest, 76 to 73, in the first round. Tim Smith is an American classical music critic and journalist. Born in Washington, D.C., he received a B.A. in music history from Eisenhower College and an M. A. in music history from Occidental College, Los Angeles. Tim Smith (born 1961 in Swindon) is an English broadcaster and radio personality in the UK. He is best known as being part of the team for ''Steve Wright in the Afternoon'' on BBC Radio 2. On 1 July 2022 Steve Wright (DJ), Wright announced that his afternoon show would end in Autumn 2022, after 23 years. Midlake is an American folk rock band from Denton, Texas, formed in 1999. The band consists of Eric Pulido, McKenzie Smith, Scott Lee, Eric Nichelson, Jesse Chandler, and Joey McClellan. In 2012, vocalist, guitarist and primary songwriter Tim Smith left the band during the recording of its fourth studio album.
