Tim Cossins
Timothy Carter Cossins ( ; born March 31, 1970) is an American professional baseball coach for the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball. Career Cossins graduated from Santa Rosa High School in Santa Rosa, California. He attended Santa Rosa Junior College, and transferred to the University of Oklahoma and played college baseball for the Oklahoma Sooners. The Pittsburgh Pirates selected Cossins in the 39th round of the 1992 MLB draft, but he did not sign with Pittsburgh, returning to Oklahoma. The Texas Rangers selected him in the 16th round of the 1993 MLB draft. He played in Minor League Baseball through 2000. After his playing career, he worked for the Miami Marlins as a minor league manager for four years, and then became the Marlins' minor league catching coordinator in 2007. Coach (baseball)
In baseball, a number of coaches assist in the smooth functioning of a team. They are assistants to the manager, who determines the starting lineup and batting order, decides how to substitute players during the game, and makes strategy decisions. Beyond the manager, more than a half dozen coaches may assist the manager in running the team. Essentially, baseball coaches are analogous to assistant coaches in other sports, as the baseball manager is to the head coach. Miami Marlins
The Miami Marlins are an American professional baseball team based in Miami. The Marlins compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the National League (NL) East division. The club's home ballpark is LoanDepot Park. The franchise began play as an expansion team in the 1993 season as the Florida Marlins. The Marlins originally played home games at Joe Robbie Stadium, which they shared with the National Football League (NFL)'s Miami Dolphins. In 2012, the team moved to LoanDepot Park (then known as Marlins Park), their first exclusive home and the first to be designed as a baseball park. The October 2017 Northern California wildfires, also known as the Northern California firestorm, North Bay Fires, and the Wine Country Fires were a series of 250 wildfires that started burning across the state of California, United States, beginning in early October. A volunteer fire department (VFD) is a fire department of volunteers who perform fire suppression and other related emergency services for a local jurisdiction.
