Tikatuli
Tikatuli is a residential/commercial neighborhood of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. History The parents of the Indian mystic Anandamayi Ma used to live in Tikatuli. Rapid Action Battalion-3 has built their office was what used to be Tikatuli park. A community center was built on the park in the 1990s, near Mayor Hanif flyover, and it was rented out to RAB. Culture Pulin Behari Das, the Indian revolutionary, founded a gym in Tikatuli in 1903. The Bengal Motion Pictures Studio Ltd, one of the first and one of two private movie production studios in Dhaka is located in Taktuli. Kamrunnessa Govt Girls High School
Kamrunnessa Government Girls High School is a public secondary school for girls in Tikatuli, Dhaka. History Kamrunnessa Government Girls High School was originally established as a branch of Eden College and it was separated from the college in 1924 and renamed as Kamrunnessa High School. It was named by Nawabzadi Akhtar Banu after her mother, Kamrunnessa. Kamrunnessa was married to Nawab Sir Khwaja Ahsanullah Bahadur, the Nawab of Dhaka. It was supported by Akhtar Banu and her sisters. Sir Khwaja Nazimuddin, the chief Minister of Bengal, nationalised the school after the Partition of Bengal in 1947. The school became a government school and was moved to 25 Abhoy Das lane, Tikatuli. Pulin Behari Das
Pulin Behari Das (28 January 1877 – 17 August 1949) was an Bengali revolutionary and the founder-president of the Dhaka Anushilan Samiti. Early life Pulin came from a middle class Bengali Hindu family. Though they held some landed property they were mostly employed in colonial jobs. His father was an advocate at the sub-divisional court in Madaripur. One of his uncles was a Deputy Magistrate while another was ''munsif''. Pulin was born to Naba Kumar Das in the village of Lonesingh, in the district of Shariatpur in the year 1877.Sengupta, S. (ed.) (1988). Anandamayi Ma
Anandamayi Ma (''née'' Nirmala Sundari; 30 April 1896 – 27 August 1982) was an Indian saint and yoga guru, described by Sivananda Saraswati (of the Divine Life Society) as he most perfect flower the Indian soil has produced Precognition, faith healing and miracles were attributed to her by her followers. Paramahansa Yogananda translates the Sanskrit epithet ''Anandamayi'' as "Joy-permeated" in English. Rose Garden Palace
The Rose Garden Palace is a mansion and garden in Old Dhaka, Bangladesh. Built in the late 19th century, it became birthplace of the Awami League in 1949, when East Bengali liberal and social democrats converged in Dhaka to form an alternative political force against the Muslim League in Pakistan. The property is situated on K.M. Das Lane in Tikatully area of Old Dhaka, near the modern business district of Motijheel and near the Baldha Garden in Gopibug area of Dhaka. The mansion was built by a Hindu lower caste zamidar (landlord) Hrishikesh Das. He lived in the mansion for a decade. In 1927, he became bankrupt and sold the mansion to another zamidar Boshuruddin Sarkar of Nabinagar under Brahmanbaria district. Later the mansion was sold to a businessman by the family of Boshuruddin Sarkar after his death.
