Tigerstyle is a Scottish folkhop group from Glasgow with a British Punjabi background. Background Brothers Raj Singh and Pablo (Pops) Singh come from a folk background, with the traditional upbringing of a Sikh family, with their roots in Punjab, Punjabi folk music, in particular Punjabi music from the late 1970s to early 1980s, including artists such as Kuldip Manak and Surinder Shinda as well as Bollywood music. They also list Rap, Hip hop, RnB and Drum n bass with artists such as Dr. Dre and Ice Cube as influences. Music career They started their music career in 1997 when as DJs they created Desi Bombsquad Sound System with the intent of nurturing the bhangra scene in Scotland as they felt it lagged behind the English bhangra scene. Nachural Records is a British bhangra record label based in Birmingham, West Midlands, England. It was formed in 1991 by Ninder Johal, tabla-player for the group Achanak. Throughout the 1990s, Nachural became a leading label for contemporary UK-based bhangra, releasing music from Anakhi, Johnny Zee, TSB Golden Star, and Johal's Achanak. Badmarsh & Shri are an English electronic dance music duo from London. The pair consists of DJ Mohammed Akber Ali, aka Badmarsh, who was born in Yemen, and tabla player Shrikanth Sriram, aka Shri, who is from India. They have released two albums to date. History Prior to the group's formation, Badmarsh (whose name means "rascal" in Hindi) worked at the reggae studio Easy Street, which was hiring PA equipment to a nightclub called Labyrinth. After a visit to Labyrinth, Badmarsh became interested in DJing, and almost immediately went out to buy turntables and records. He later secured a residency position at the club, where he remained for five years. Asian Dub Foundation (ADF) is an English electronic music band that combines musical styles including rap rock, dub, dancehall, ragga, and South Asian music. Misty in Roots are a British roots reggae band formed in Southall, London, in the mid 1970s. Their first album was 1979's ''Live at the Counter Eurovision'', a record full of Rastafarian songs. It was championed by BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel, helping to bring roots reggae to a white audience. At this early stage, the band was a collective with five lead singers and various musicians, though by the time of the second album proper the band had slimmed down to just three members.
