Tiger City () is a shopping center in Taichung's 7th Redevelopment Zone, Xitun District, Taichung, Taiwan that opened on January 16, 2002. History * On January 16, 2002, the Tiger City Shopping Center, which was built at a cost of NT$3.5 billion, was officially opened. * In 2006, Tiger City planned to spend NT$2.6 billion to build an amusement park next to the mall, of which NT$500 million was planned to be used to build a -high Ferris wheel, and the remaining NT$2.1 billion to build another shopping mall. It was expected to be completed in 2008. But later, the expansion plan was cancelled, and was replaced by other builders to build a skyscraper building - Ding Sheng BHW Taiwan Central Plaza. * On October 13, 2016, the Taichung International Animation Film Festival debuted at Tiger City. Xitun District
Xitun District or Situn District (, literally "western village") is the second-most populated district of Taichung, Taiwan. It is located on the western side of the city. Once considered part of the countryside, the district has seen rapid growth in recent years with department store and office towers in the redevelopment zone. Taichung City Hall is located in the district. History The original inhabitants of the area were the Pazeh people, who inhabited the Taichung Basin. The first Han settlers arrived in 1701, led by Liao Chao Kong () and Chang Da Jing (). As a result, the Pazeh people were pushed out of the area, and most of them migrated to Puli, Nantou. Many of its prehistory artifacts can be found at the Huilai Monument Archaeology Park. Park Lane by CMP () is a shopping center located West District, Taichung, Taiwan. The shopping center is jointly operated by the CMP Group and Eslite Bookstore. History The building was first built as the Guangsan Dadiwang Building (廣三大地王大樓) in 1996. Within the building, the Guangsan Group operated a shopping center and a parking lot within the building in a design similar to the current layout. However, in 2005, the Guansan Group found itself in financial trouble, and in the ensuing legal procedures, the Dadiwang Building was seized due to tax evasion. The CMP Group acquired the building for $1.7 billion NTD during a court auction and decided to operate a shopping center in conjunction with Eslite Bookstore. The Mitsui Outlet Park Taichung Port () is an outlet store in Wuqi District, Taichung, Taiwan. History The idea to construct the outlet was brought up in September 2016. On 21 August 2017, the groundbreaking ceremony was held which was attended by Taichung Mayor Lin Chia-lung and Chairperson of Taiwan International Ports Corporation. The outlet was opened on 12 December 2018 after 16 months of construction. The second phase of the expansion project was opened on the 16th of December 2021. The Ding Sheng BHW Taiwan Central Plaza () is a skyscraper office building located in Taichung's 7th Redevelopment Zone, Xitun District, Taichung, Taiwan. The height of the building is , the floor area is , and it comprises 36 floors above ground, as well as six basement levels. Construction of the building began in 2012 and it was completed in 2015.
