Tierp () is a locality and the seat of Tierp Municipality, Uppsala County, Sweden with 6,143 inhabitants in 2018. Communications Tierp is connected to Uppsala and Gävle by commuter train Upptåget and the new (2007) section of highway E4 passes just west of Tierp. Sports The following sports clubs are located in Tierp: * Strömsbergs IF * Tierps IF Tierp Arena is located here. It is a world class auto racing facility. The main sport at this facility is Drag Racing. It hosts two FIA European Drag Races per year. One in June and the other in August. Emil Norling of Tierp, is the classic powerlifting world champion of 2019, in the -105 kg junior category. He dominated the competition with a 312.5 kg squat, 195 kg bench press and a 355 kg deadlift. Division 1 (Swedish Ice Hockey)
Hockeyettan is the third tier of ice hockey in Sweden. As of the 2015–16 season, the league consists of 46 teams divided geographically into four groups. Hockeyettan operates a system of promotion and relegation with HockeyAllsvenskan and Division 2. From 1944 to 1975, Division I was the highest league in the Swedish ice hockey system, but with the creation of Elitserien (now the SHL) in 1975, it became the second tier. Division I was further relegated to third-tier status in 1999 as HockeyAllsvenskan was spun off into a standalone league, but was frequently written as "Division 1" on the Internet, as it was pronounced "Division One". The league was renamed Hockeyettan for the 2014–15 season. Ice Hockey
Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey.
