Tierp Arena is located here. It is a world class auto racing facility. The main sport at this facility is Drag Racing. It hosts two FIA European Drag Races per year. One in June and the other in August.
Emil Norling of Tierp, is the classic powerlifting world champion of 2019, in the -105 kg junior category. He dominated the competition with a 312.5 kg squat, 195 kg bench press and a 355 kg deadlift. This added up for a 862.5 kg total, which made him the king of Swedish powerlifting and also put Tierp on the map of Sweden.
