Goa'uld Characters In Stargate
Over its decade of existence, science fiction TV series ''Stargate SG-1'' developed an extensive and detailed backdrop of diverse characters. Many of the characters are members of alien species discovered while exploring the galaxy through the Stargate, although there are an equal number of characters from offworld human civilizations. While ''Stargate SG-1'', ''Stargate Atlantis'' and ''Stargate Universe'' are separate shows, they take part in the same fictional universe, so no character is internally show-specific. Main characters Except for the commanders of the top-secret Stargate Command military base (SGC), all main characters of ''Stargate SG-1'' are members of the SG-1 team, the primary unit of the SGC in the show. SG-1's duties include first contact, reconnaissance and combat, diplomacy, initial archaeological surveying, and technological assessment. The composition of SG-1 changes several times during the series run and varies in several alternative universes. Jac ...

Thoth Tarot Deck
The Thoth Tarot is an divinatory tarot, esoteric tarot deck painted by Lady Frieda Harris according to instructions from Aleister Crowley. Crowley referred to this deck as The Book of Thoth, and also wrote The Book of Thoth (Crowley), a 1944 book of that title intended for use with the deck. Background Crowley originally intended the Thoth deck to be a six-month project aimed at updating the traditional pictorial symbolism of the tarot. However, due to increased scope, the project eventually spanned five years, between 1938 and 1943. Symbolism The illustrations of the deck feature symbolism based upon Crowley's incorporation of imagery from many disparate disciplines, including science and philosophy and various occult systems (as described in detail in his ''The Book of Thoth''). Differences from Rider–Waite tarot Order and names of trumps Crowley renamed several of the trumps compared to earlier arrangements, and also re-arranged the numerical, astrology, astrological and ...

A new language derived from B, named ''Eh'', was developed at Waterloo. Thoth was written originally in Eh with some assembly language. Initial development of Thoth occurred on a Honeywell 6050 computer. It was first run on a Data General Nova 2 in May 1976, and was next ported to a Texas Instruments TI990/10 in August 1976.
