Thomas Vesey, 3rd Viscount De Vesci
Lieutenant-Colonel Thomas Vesey, 3rd Viscount de Vesci and 4th Baron Knapton (21 September 1803 – 23 December 1875), was an Anglo-Irish peer and Conservative politician. Background de Vesci was the son of The 2nd Viscount de Vesci and Frances Letitia, daughter of William Brownlow. Political career The Honourable John Vesey, as he then was, sat as Member of Parliament for the Queen's County between 1835 and 1837 and 1841 and 1852. In October 1855, he succeeded his father to become The 3rd Viscount de Vesci. In 1857, as Lord de Vesci, he was elected an Irish Representative Peer and entered the House of Lords. Marriage and progeny In 1839, the future Lord de Vesci married Lady Emma Herbert (1819-October 1884), youngest daughter of The 11th Earl of Pembroke. Viscount de Vesci, of Abbeyleix in the Queen's County, now called County Laois (pronounced "leash"), is a title in the Peerage of Ireland. It was created in 1776 for Thomas Vesey, 2nd Baron Knapton and 3rd Baronet. The title Baron Knapton was created in the Peerage of Ireland in 1750 for the first Viscount's father, John Vesey, 2nd Baronet, who had earlier represented Newtownards (Parliament of Ireland constituency), Newtownards in the Irish House of Commons. The baronetcy, of Abbeyleix in the Queen's County, was created in the Baronetage of Ireland on 28 September 1698 for the first Baron's father, Reverend Thomas Vesey, 1st Baronet, Thomas Vesey, Bishop of Killaloe (1713–1714) and Bishop of Ossory (1714–1730). Hugh Grosvenor, 1st Duke Of Westminster
Hugh Lupus Grosvenor, 1st Duke of Westminster, (13 October 1825 – 22 December 1899), styled Viscount Belgrave between 1831 and 1845, Earl Grosvenor between 1845 and 1869, and known as The Marquess of Westminster between 1869 and 1874, was an English landowner, politician and racehorse owner. He inherited the estate of Eaton Hall in Cheshire and land in Mayfair and Belgravia, London, and spent much of his fortune in developing these properties. Although he was a MP from the age of 22, and then a member of the House of Lords, his main interests were not in politics, but rather in his estates, in horse racing, and in country pursuits. Knapton is a village and a civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. The village is southeast of Cromer, northeast of Norwich and northeast of London. The Village is located alongside the B1145 a route which runs between King's Lynn and Mundesley. John Massy, 6th Baron Massy
John Thomas William Massy, 6th Baron Massy (30 August 1835 – 1915) was an Anglo-Irish peer. He was a representative peer in the British House of Lords from 1876 to 1915. He was appointed Sheriff of Leitrim for 1863 and Sheriff of County Limerick in 1873. He succeeded to his title following the death of his older brother, Hugh Massy, 5th Baron Massy, in 1874. He was one of Ireland's wealthiest landowners at the time, having large properties in Counties Leitrim, Dublin, Limerick and Tipperary. This included large country houses at Killakee in south Co. Dublin, and Hermitage in Castleconnell, Co. Limerick. Cornwallis Maude, 3rd Viscount Hawarden
Cornwallis Maude, 3rd Viscount Hawarden (28 March 1780 – 12 October 1856) was a British Conservative politician. Hawarden was the son of Cornwallis Maude, 1st Viscount Hawarden, by his second wife Anne Isabella (née Monck), and succeeded his half-brother in the viscountcy in 1807. In 1836 he was elected an Irish Representative Peer and took his seat on the Conservative benches in the House of Lords. He served as a Lord-in-waiting (government whip in the House of Lords) under Sir Robert Peel from 1841 to 1846 and under the Earl of Derby in 1852. Lord Hawarden married Jane, daughter of Patrick Crawford Bruce, in 1811. She died in 1852. Hawarden survived her by four years and died in October 1856, aged 76. John FitzPatrick, 1st Baron Castletown
John Wilson FitzPatrick, 1st Baron Castletown PC (23 September 1811 – 22 January 1883), known as John Wilson until 1842, was an Irish Liberal politician. Castletown was the illegitimate son of John FitzPatrick, 2nd Earl of Upper Ossory, and was baptised John Wilson. He was educated at Eton. He inherited parts of his father's estates in Ireland and in 1842 he assumed by Royal licence the surname of FitzPatrick. He was appointed High Sheriff of Queen's County in 1836. He was then elected to the House of Commons for Queen's County in 1837, a seat he represented until 1841, and again from 1847 to 1852 and from 1865 to 1869. He was admitted to the Irish Privy Council in 1848 and in 1869 he was raised to the peerage as Baron Castletown, of Upper Ossory in the Queen's County. Apart from his parliamentary career he was also Lord Lieutenant of Queen's County from 1855 to 1883. Lord Castletown married Augusta Mary, daughter of Reverend Archibald Douglas, in 1830.
