Thomas Szewczykowski
Thomas Szewczykowski (February 14, 1881 – April 14, 1947) was a moulder and saloonkeeper from Milwaukee, Wisconsin who served one term as a Democratic member of the Wisconsin State Assembly from Milwaukee County. Background Szewczykowski was born in Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada of parents who had been born in German Poland. He came to Milwaukee with his parents at the age of three years, and received his early education in the city's parochial schools. He then began learning the moulders' trade, and became a foreman in one of the largest manufacturing concerns in the state. He later entered the saloon and grocery business. Elective office Szewczykowski served on the Milwaukee Common Council from 1911 to 1914, and was a candidate for state senator for the Seventh District in 1914, losing in a three-way race, with 2,586 votes to 2,763 for Republican Daniel B. John Masiakowski
John Masiakowski (August 31, 1874 – November 15, 1936) was an American stationer from Milwaukee, Wisconsin who served one term as a Socialist member of the Wisconsin State Assembly for the 14th Milwaukee County district (14th and 24th wards of the City of Milwaukee). Background Masiakowski was born in 1874 in Milwaukee to Polish immigrant parents Ludwik Masiakowski and Maryanna Brzezińska. He attended parochial school and public school of the twelfth ward. He enlisted in the Hospital Corps of the United States Army, and served three years during the Spanish–American War. He served for two years as a deputy sheriff, and at the time of his election to the Assembly had been operating a school supply and confectionery store. The Prohibition Party (PRO) is a political party in the United States known for its historic opposition to the sale or consumption of alcoholic beverages and as an integral part of the temperance movement. Frederick Carl Brockhausen, Jr. (May 20, 1858 – June 16, 1929) was a cigar maker and trade union activist from Milwaukee, Wisconsin who spent four terms as a Socialist Party of America, Socialist member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. Background Brockhausen was born in Fredericia, Denmark on May 20, 1858. He attended State school, public schools and became a journeyman cigar maker in 1877. While working on the German Empire, German island of Föhr in North Frisia, he joined both the Social Democratic Party of Germany, Social Democratic Party and the cigarmakers' union.
