Thomas Daniel Jennings (born 1955) is a Los Angeles-based artist, known for his work on FidoNet and for his work at Phoenix Software on MS-DOS integration and interoperability. Work He is the creator of FidoNet, the first message and file networking system for BBSes. Originally, the FidoNet protocols were implemented in a program named Fido, authored by Jennings, but they were ultimately implemented by other authors in other software to create a network using a multiplicity of platforms. Tom Jennings (born 1951) is an American professional pocket billiards (pool) player and mathematics professor. He won the BCA U.S. Open Straight Pool Championship in 1976 and 1977, being the first player since Steve Mizerak to win consecutive championships. He won both titles while also a full-time mathematics professor at Middlesex County College in New Jersey. Early years At 17 years of age, Jennings was a highly skilled player who claimed to be capable of making runs of 300. Career In August 1976, despite having never won a single match in four prior BCA U.S. Open Straight Pool Championships, Jennings was victorious in the straight pool (14.1 continuous) championship held in Chicago. Thomas Hamilton Oliver Jennings (8 March 1902 – 1973) was a Scottish footballer. Career Jennings started his career with Cadzow St Anne's and had a trial with Tottenham Hotspur in 1919, playing no games for the club. He then moved on to Raith Rovers, before joining Leeds United in March 1925. He made 167 league appearances for the club, in which he scored 112 goals, before he joined Chester in June 1931. He made 48 league appearances and scored 33 goals and in 1933 joined Bangor City. Jennings officially scored Chester's first ever Football League goal in a 1–1 draw with Wrexham on 2 September 1931. Although Chester had beaten Wigan Borough 4-0 four days earlier (with Jennings scoring the third goal), the result was deleted after Wigan resigned from the Football League in October 1931. Thomas Shepherd Jennings (3 November 1896 – 7 September 1972) was an English cricketer. Jennings was a left-handed batsman who bowled slow left-arm orthodox. He was born in Tiverton, Devon. Jennings made his first-class debut for Surrey in the 1921 County Championship against Essex. Jennings played first-class cricket for Surrey from 1921 to 1924, playing 18 times for them. In these 18 matches, he scored 194 runs at a batting average of 13.85, with a high score of 37 *. Predominantly a bowler, Jennings took 37 wickets for Surrey at a bowling average of 29.56, with three five wicket hauls and once taking ten wickets in a match, which came against Derbyshire in 1924. He claimed 6 wickets in the Derbyshire first-innings and took 4 in their second. The pitches at The Oval in the early to mid-twenties were not friendly to Jennings style of bowling, thus he wasn't a regular feature in the Surrey team. Thomas Albert Jennings (January 8, 1865 – March 16, 1917) was an American politician. Biography Jennings was born on January 8, 1865 Jennings, Florida. He attended Emory College. Thomas Walter Jennings (28 February 1917 – 1978) was an English businessman who was the founder of Jennings Organ Company. In 1950 he formed Jennings Musical Instruments (JMI) Ltd, the company that produced the famous Vox Guitar amplifiers. In 1956 the company name was changed to Jennings Musical Industries Ltd. Disenchanted with the company direction, he left JMI Ltd in 1967 and set up a separate company, Jennings Electronic Industries. Biography Jennings was born in Hackney, London, England on 28 February 1917. He became an accomplished amateur accordion player. He served with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers during World War II, but he was discharged from the Army on medical grounds in 1942.
