Thomas Banks Cabaniss
Thomas Banks Cabaniss (August 31, 1835 – August 14, 1915) was a United States representative from Georgia. Biography Born in Forsyth, Georgia, he attended private schools and Penfield College (now Mercer University), graduated from the University of Georgia in 1853, studied law, and was admitted to the bar in 1861. He entered the Confederate States Army on April 1, 1861, and served throughout the Civil War, after which he returned to Forsyth and commenced the practice of law. He was a member of the Georgia House of Representatives from 1865 to 1867 and was appointed assistant secretary of the Georgia State Senate in 1870 and secretary in 1873. He resigned to become Solicitor General of the Flint circuit, which office he held until 1877; he served in the Georgia Senate from 1878 to 1880 and 1884 to 1886. Thomas Chipman McRae
Thomas Chipman McRae (December 21, 1851June 2, 1929) was an American attorney and politician from Arkansas. He served as a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives (1885 to 1903) and the 26th Governor of Arkansas, from 1921 to 1925. Biography Thomas Chipman McRae, the eldest of five siblings, was born to Duncan L. and Mary Ann (Chipman) McRae on December 21, 1851, at Mount Holly in Union County, Arkansas. He attended Soule Business College in New Orleans, Louisiana and graduated with a law degree from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. He passed the Arkansas bar in 1873, and began his practice at Rosston in Nevada County, Arkansas. He married Amelia Ann White in December 1874, with whom he would go on to have six daughters and three sons. Charles Lafayette Bartlett (January 31, 1853 – April 21, 1938) was an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as a United States Representative from Georgia from 1895 to 1915. Early years and education Bartlett was born in Monticello, Georgia. He graduated in 1870 with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia (UGA) in Athens. While at UGA, he was a member of the Phi Kappa Literary Society. He then studied law at the University of Virginia before graduating from the UGA School of Law with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1872, gaining admission to the state bar, and beginning the practice of law in Monticello. Political career After moving to Macon, Georgia in 1875, Bartlett became the solicitor general for the Macon judicial circuit in 1877 and remained in that position until 1881.
