''This Town (Music from the Original BBC Series)'' is a soundtrack by various artists of the 2024 BBC One TV miniseries, ''This Town''. It was released on 26 April 2024 by Polydor Records on CD, and as an LP pressed on blue vinyl and clear vinyl. The album's release coincided with the broadcast of the TV show's final episode on BBC One on 28 April 2024. The miniseries was created by British screenwriter and film director Steven Knight. It takes place in the United Kingdom during the two-tone ska revival in the 1980s. The show's soundtrack features songs by various artists, including UB40, the Clash and Desmond Dekker, covers of songs recorded for the show by several musicians, including Self Esteem, Gregory Porter and Sekou, and songs written for the show and performed by show's actors. Kormac
Kormac is a DJ, producer, and composer from Dublin. In the mid-2000s, Kormac was a turntablist and multi-instrumentalist in the Irish experimental band 8Ball. In 2007, Kormac released his first solo EP, ''Scratch Marchin'''. Kormac has performed with a full ensemble of brass, strings, drums, electronics, bass, and guitar as Kormac’s Big Band. In 2014, Kormac's song "Wake Up" from the album ''Doorsteps'' was nominated for the Choice Music Prize of Irish Song of the Year. Kae Tempest (formerly Kate Tempest; born 22 December 1985) is an English spoken word performer, poet, recording artist, novelist and playwright. At the age of 16, Tempest was accepted into the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon. In 2013, they won the Ted Hughes Award for their work ''Brand New Ancients''. Daniel De Mussenden Carey (born 24 December 1969) is an English record producer, songwriter, mixer and remixer. He owns his own studio in South London and runs the record label Speedy Wunderground. In 2014, Carey received two Mercury Prize nominations for his production work on two nominated albums: ''Everybody Down'' by Kae Tempest and '' First Mind'' by Nick Mulvey. In 2019, Carey earned two further Mercury Prize nominations for his production work on the albums '' Schlagenheim'' by Black Midi and ''Dogrel'' by Fontaines D.C.
