Kormac
Kormac is a DJ, producer, and composer from Dublin. In the mid-2000s, Kormac was a turntablist and multi-instrumentalist in the Irish experimental band 8Ball. In 2007, Kormac released his first solo EP, ''Scratch Marchin'''. Kormac has performed with a full ensemble of brass, strings, drums, electronics, bass, and guitar as Kormac’s Big Band. In 2014, Kormac's song "Wake Up" from the album ''Doorsteps'' was nominated for the Choice Music Prize of Irish Song of the Year. Kormac has played festivals including Glastonbury, Bestival, Electric Picnic, Sonar and toured the UK, Europe, Eastern Europe, Australia and Canada alongside luminaries Portishead, Nas, Flaming Lips, Sonic Youth, Snarky Puppy and a host of others. Current streaming figures are estimated to be in excess of 30 million. Electric Picnic
Electric Picnic is an annual arts-and-music festival which has been staged since 2004 at Stradbally Hall in Stradbally, County Laois, Ireland. It is organised by Pod Concerts and Festival Republic, who purchased the majority shareholding in 2009. It was voted Best Medium-Sized European Festival at the 2010 European Festival Awards, and has been voted Best Big Festival at each of the last four Irish Festival Awards since they began in 2007. The Picnic has been described as "Ireland's version of Glastonbury" and "a great inspiration to Latitude" by one of its business partners, Laois. Electric Picnic 2008
Electric Picnic 2008 was the fifth Electric Picnic festival to take place. The three-day event took place on the weekend of Friday–Sunday, 29–31 August at Stradbally in County Laois, Ireland. The festival was headlined by Sigur Rós on the Friday, George Clinton and Franz Ferdinand on the Saturday, and My Bloody Valentine and Sex Pistols on the Sunday. Florence and the Machine performed for the first time in Ireland at Electric Picnic 2008. Bajka (musician)
Bajka Pluwatsch (born 25 December 1978), also known by her mononym and stage name Bajka (pronounced "Bai-Kah"), is a German artist born in India and raised in Portugal and South Africa. She is a poet, singer, producer, and songwriter. History Bajka studied music in Prague. Her relationship with Asia remains the main theme of her poetry. She has performed spoken word poetry on several projects, including Bonobo and Radio Citizen. In 2009 she performed on the Club des Belugas album "Zoo Zizaro". Her latest solo record is called '' Bajka in Wonderland'', released on Chinchin records. In recent years, her role has moved from poet to singer and composer as well as producer. Her voice is described as jazz/soul and she has appeared on a number of chill out and electronic dance tracks. She is currently based in Berlin, Germany. Corynne Elliot (born 17 March 1983 in London, England), better known as Speech Debelle, is a British rapper signed to the Big Dada record label. She was the winner of the 2009 Mercury Prize for her debut album ''Speech Therapy''. She released her second album, ''Freedom of Speech'' in 2012 and her third album, ''tantil before i breathe'' in 2017.
