This Is It!, also known locally as ''Tits'', is a gay bar and Bar (establishment), lounge located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is the oldest, continually-operating gay bar in the state of Wisconsin. The bar is located in a building constructed in 1915 on the corner of Jefferson and Wells streets. The space the bar occupies has been used as a bar and tavern since 1936, previously known as "The Establishment", and before that "Vern's Tap". History This Is It! is a gay bar established in 1968 by Catherine "June" Brehm and business partner Michael Latona. June took control of the bar, known previously as "The Establishment", in 1968. Extensive remodels were done in 1969, and the bar has kept the same style since. The Milwaukee County Historical Society, also known as MCHS, is a local historical society in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. Founded in 1935, the organization was formed to preserve, collect, recognize, and make available materials related to Milwaukee County history. It is located in downtown Milwaukee in the former Second Ward Savings Bank building. MCHS houses the Harry H. Anderson Research Library and a museum. The library collects and preserves manuscripts, records, photographs, and family history information. The museum preserves three-dimensional artifacts related to Milwaukee County history, including paintings, ribbons, uniforms, flags, furniture, and china in a collection of over 20,000 items. PrideFest is an annual gay pride event held at the Henry Maier Festival Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the second weekend of June. History In 1988, the Milwaukee Lesbian/Gay Pride Committee launched the first officially sanctioned pride celebration in Milwaukee. The event was held in Juneau Park and later to Veterans Park on Milwaukee's lakefront. In 1996, PrideFest secured its current venue at Henry Maier Festival Park. PrideFest celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2007, which was also a record-breaking attendance year with 27,467 tickets sold over three days. In 2008, the National Socialist Movement, a hate group according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, protested the event. They were outnumbered by pro-gay protesters. In 2017, PrideFest Milwaukee's 30th anniversary celebration was attended by over 37,000 people. The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is an American symphony orchestra based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The orchestra performs primarily at the Bradley Symphony Center in Allen-Bradley Hall.
