Thirunindravur is a neighbourhood situated on the western part of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is located around 29 km from Chennai Central railway station. Pusalar
Pusalar (also transliterated as Pūcalār, Pusala or Poosalar) is an eighth-century Nayanar saint, venerated in the Hindu sect of Shaivism. He is generally counted as the fifty-eighth in the list of 63 Nayanars. His hagiography speaks how he created a grand temple for Shiva in his mind and how his patron god Shiva preferred attending the consecration of his mind temple, instead of a grand temple created by a Pallava king. Life The primary account of Pusalar's life comes from the Tamil ''Periya Puranam'' by Sekkizhar (12th century), which is a hagiography of the 63 Nayanars. Pusalar was a Brahmin, priest. He lived in Thiruninravur (Tiru Ninravur/ Ninravur), presently a neighbourhood in the city of Chennai. Thirunindravur Railway Station
Thiruninravur railway station is one of the railway stations on the Chennai Central–Arakkonam section of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network. It serves the neighbourhood of Thiruninravur, a suburb of Chennai, and is located 29 km west of the Chennai Central railway station. It has an elevation of 37 m above sea level. History The lines at the station were electrified on 29 November 1979, with the electrification of the Chennai Central–Tiruvallur section. Existing footbridge was demolished due to less usage and a new footbridge was erected in February 2016. In 2019, reservation counter was moved from the station platform to footbridge. Layout The station has three platforms. Platform 1 is meant for long-distance trains, goods trains and trains starting from Thiruninravur. Platform 2 and 3 are meant for local suburban trains. Thiruvallur
Tiruvallur is a Grade I municipality and a fast developing city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located on the banks of Coovum river about from downtown Chennai ( Madras) and just 5 km from megacity border, in the western part of the Chennai Metropolitan Area (CMA). It is the administrative headquarters of Tiruvallur district. The city is known for the Veera Raghavar temple, one of the 108 sacred shrines of Vaishnavites. Divyadesams
A Divya Desam or Vaishnava Divya Desam is one of the 108 Vishnu and Lakshmi temples that is mentioned in the works of the Alvars, the poet-saints of the Sri Vaishnava tradition. Of the 108 temples, 105 are in India, one is in Nepal, and the last two are believed to outside the earth, in Tirupparkatal and Vaikuntham. In India, they are spread over the states of Tamil Nadu (84), Kerala (11), Andhra Pradesh (2), Gujarat (1), Uttar Pradesh (4), and Uttarakhand (3). Bhaktavatsala Perumal Temple, Thirunindravur
Sri Bhaktavatsala Perumal temple is a Hindu temple, located at Thirunindravur, a western suburb of Chennai, India. It is dedicated to the Hindu deity Vishnu. Constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture, the temple is glorified in the ''Naalayira Divya Prabandham'', the early medieval Tamil canon of the Alvar saints from the 6th–9th centuries CE. Vaikuntha Ekadashi () is a Hindu occasion and festival. It is primarily observed by Vaishnavas, who regard it to be a special Ekādaśī. It coincides with '' Mokṣadā Ekādaśī'' or Putrada Ekādaśī.
