Third Deputy Speaker Of The Riksdag
The speaker of the Riksdag is assisted by three deputy speakers who are also elected by a vote in the chamber. Traditionally, the second, third and fourth largest parties gets to name of one of their members for these offices. There is some disagreement whether the largest party or the leader of the largest party bloc should hold the Speakership. Unlike the Speaker (and cabinet ministers), the deputy speakers are not replaced by an alternate and remain members of the Riksdag with voting rights. Speaker Of The Riksdag
The speaker of the Riksdag ( sv, Riksdagens talman) is the speaker (politics), presiding officer of the national unicameral legislature in Sweden. The Riksdag underwent profound changes in 1867, when the medieval Riksdag of the Estates was abolished. The new form of the Riksdag included bicameral system, two elected chambers, each with its own speaker. Since the ''de facto'' introduction of parliamentarism in 1917, the Riksdag has properly functioned as the institution to which the prime minister and the Government of Sweden, government are held accountable. In 1971 the institution was transformed into a unicameral legislature with 350 members, reduced to 349 in 1976 to avoid parliamentary deadlocks. The Left Party ( sv, Vänsterpartiet ; V) is a socialist political party in Sweden. On economic issues, the party opposes privatizations and advocates increased public expenditure. In foreign policy, the party is Eurosceptic, being opposed to the European Union, NATO, and Swedish entry into the eurozone. It attempted to get Sweden to join the Non-Aligned Movement in 1980, but did not succeed. The party is eco-socialist, and also supports anti-racism, feminism, and republicanism. It is placed on the left-wing of the political spectrum. Görel Thurdin (born 26 May 1942) is Swedish politician who served as the minister of physical planning and the minister of environment in the 1990s, and was a member of the Swedish Parliament. Biography Thurdin was born in Västerås on 26 May 1942. She is a graduate of Umeå University. She began her political career as a member of the municipal board in Örnsköldsvik and was in office until 1985. Then she was elected to the Swedish Parliament in 1986 for Centre Party. Anders Dahlgren (23 December 1925 – 24 March 1986) was a Swedish politician. He was a member of the Centre Party. He served at the Riksdag (lower chamber) 1961–1970, and of the unicameral Riksdag 1970 to his death in 1986. From 1982 to 1985 he was the Second Deputy Speaker of the Riksdag, and from 1985 to 1986 the Third Deputy Speaker.
