Thief Lake
Thief Lake is a lake in Marshall County, in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The lake gives its name to the township that it stands on, Thief Lake Township. The lake is linked to the Red Lake River via Thief River. The two rivers meet at Thief River Falls. The area is designated as a Wildlife management area. Marshall County, Minnesota
Marshall County is a county in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 9,040. Its county seat is Warren. Marshall County was the location of a claimed UFO incident in 1979, the Val Johnson incident. History The Minnesota legislature created the county on February 25, 1879, with territory partitioned from the southern half of Kittson County, with Warren (which was first platted that same year) as the county seat. It was named for William Rainey Marshall, who served as Minnesota governor from 1866 to 1870. Douglas County is a county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 39,006. Its county seat is Alexandria. Thief Lake Township is a township in Marshall County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 48 at the 2000 census. Thief Lake Township was organized in 1896, and named for Thief Lake. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.5 square miles (94.5 km), of which 27.6 square miles (71.6 km) is land and 8.9 square miles (23.0 km) (24.31%) is water. Red Lake River
The Red Lake River ( French: ''Rivière du Lac Rouge''; Ojibwe: ''Miskwaagamiiwi-zaaga'iganiiwi-ziibi'') is a river located in northwestern Minnesota. The river begins on the western side of the Lower Red Lake and flows westward.
