Thetford (UK Parliament Constituency)
Thetford was a constituency of the British House of Commons. It elected two Members of Parliament (MPs) by the bloc vote system of election. It was disenfranchised under the Representation of the People (Scotland) Act 1868, which had resulted in a net increase of seven seats in Scotland, offset by the disenfranchisement of seven English Boroughs. West Norfolk (UK Parliament Constituency)
West Norfolk or Norfolk Western (formally the "Western division of Norfolk") was a county constituency in the county of Norfolk, which returned two Members of Parliament (MPs) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, elected by the bloc vote system. The constituency was created by the Reform Act 1832 for the 1832 general election, alongside Eastern Norfolk, as one of two Divisions of the Parliamentary County of Norfolk, each returning 2 MPs. Family Colby was the son of John Colby of Beccles and his wife, Ursula née Rede, daughter of Edward Rede of Norwich. Sir Valentine Browne (died 1589), of Croft, Lincolnshire, was auditor, treasurer and victualler of Berwick-upon-Tweed. He acquired large estates in Ireland during the Plantation of Munster, in particular the seignory of Molahiffe. He lived at Ross Castle near Killarney, County Kerry. He was MP in three English and one Irish parliaments. Birth and origins Valentine was probably born in the late 1510s or early 1520s in Croft, Lincolnshire, eldest son of Sir Valentine Browne, knight, of Croft, who died in 1568. Thomas Hogan, Huggen or Huggins (by 1521 – 7 March 1586), of East Bradenham, Norfolk, was an English politician. He was the eldest son of Robert Hogan of East Bradenham and was educated at Trinity Hall, Cambridge (c. 1534) and admitted to Lincoln's Inn in 1539. He succeeded his father in 1547.
