Theologis Papadopoulos
Theologis Papadopoulos ( el, Θεολόγης Παπαδόπουλος; born 12 January 1960) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Papadopoulos started football in 1974 from the amateur team Eleftheriakos Eleftherion, while he became more widely known competing in the AEL from 1979. In 1984, he moved to AEK Athens, where after a few seasons became the main goalkeeper of the club. During his tenure at AEK, he also became an international. In 1988, even though he was a key player in the team for years, his career at AEK suddenly came to an end. On the eve of the cup rematch against Olympiacos, former AEK footballer Dinos Ballis visited the AEK team's hotel, offered a bouquet to Papadopoulos and was eventually suspected of attempted bribery. Dinos Ballis ( el, Ντίνος Μπαλλής; born 25 May 1957) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Ballis started his football career at a very young age, as in 1967 he took out a sport's card for Aris. He passed from all the divisions of the infrastructure departments of the club, when in 1974, at the age of 17 he was promoted to the men's team, which was a result of his great and rapid development. He started playing as a striker, then as a central defender, but established himself as an attacking midfielder, where he distinguished himself for his high technique and great creative abilities as well as for the dynamism of his game. The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) is an international organization dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world. Vasilios Vasilakos ( el, Βασίλειος Βασιλάκος; born 7 September 1960) is a Greek former football player, who played as an attacking midfielder. Club career Vasilakos started his football career from Almyros Volos and in the summer of 1979 he was transferred to PAOK. He played 8 seasons, where he won 1 Championship and played as a finalist in 2 Greek Cup finals in 1983 and in 1985. George Koskotas ( el, Γιώργος Κοσκωτάς; born 1953, Athens) is a former banker and publisher who spearheaded a financial scandal that brought down the PASOK government in 1989. Early life Koskotas was born in Greece on October 5, 1954. He emigrated to the United States with his parents in 1970 and worked for his father's house painting business in Queens, New York until 1979 when he returned to Greece. In 1980, Koskotas was indicted on charges of defrauding the Internal Revenue Service and the New York State unemployment office of $41,000 in a scheme to falsify unemployment insurance claims and obtain tax refunds from fictitious workers of his company.
