The Police
The Police were an English rock band formed in London in 1977. For most of their history the line-up consisted of primary songwriter Sting (lead vocals, bass guitar), Andy Summers (guitar) and Stewart Copeland (drums, percussion). The Police became globally popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Emerging in the British new wave scene, they played a style of rock influenced by punk, reggae, and jazz. Their 1978 debut album, ''Outlandos d'Amour'', reached No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart on the strength of the singles " Roxanne" and "Can't Stand Losing You". British Phonographic Industry (BPI) is the British recorded music industry's Trade association. ''Outlandos d'Amour'' is the debut studio album by English rock band the Police, released on 2 November 1978 by A&M Records. Elevated by the success of its lead single, " Roxanne", ''Outlandos d'Amour'' peaked at No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart and at No. 23 on the ''Billboard'' 200. The album spawned two additional hit singles: "Can't Stand Losing You" and "So Lonely". The list has passed through various name changes and has expanded from a Top 10 to a Top 100. Roppongi
is a district of Minato, Tokyo, Japan, famous for the affluent Roppongi Hills development area and popular night club scene.
