, also known in English as ''Fortunate Fawn'', is a Japanese anime series from 1983. The series is based on Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings's 1938 novel of the same name. It has been produced in association with MGM/UA Entertainment Co. Television Distribution. Turner Entertainment Co. hold the rights to the series since 1986. Despite the similar art style, this anime is unrelated to the ''World Masterpiece Theater'' series and is also based on the 1946 film by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc., also known as Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures and abbreviated as MGM, is an American film, television production, distribution and media company owned by amazon (company), Amazon through MGM Holdings, founded o .... Masaaki Ōsumi
is a Japanese director known for his work in animated television series and films. Career Ōsumi was born in Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan, and graduated from School of Media Science at the Tokyo University of Technology. He got his start in the entertainment industry as the leader of a puppet theater in Kobe. This led to an association with Tokyo Movie Shinsha, one of the first Japanese animation studios. In 1969, Ōsumi collaborated with animator Yasuo Ōtsuka in the Moomin TV series, which was an immediate hit. But Finnish author Tove Jansson, creator of the Moomin books, objected strongly to the depiction of the characters in the series. According to Jansson, "My Moomin is No car, No fight, and No money." Shun'ichi Yukimuro
Shun'ichi Yukimuro (雪室 俊一 ''Yukimuro Shun'ichi'', born January 11, 1941, in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan) is a veteran screenwriter for anime television series. Yukimuro has had a career spanning four decades and written over 3,000 anime television series scenarios, including episodes of many classic series produced by the Toei Animation studio. After attending a school for screenwriters, Yukimuro won an award for a television drama titled ''Chikagorono Wakai Yatsu''. He soon began to focus on writing for anime television series; his first was ''Yokocho Seigitai (Justice Guardian)'' in 1964. Koichi Sugiyama
was a Japanese composer, conductor, and orchestrator. He was best known for composing the music for the '' Dragon Quest'' franchise, along with several other video games, anime, film, and television shows. Classically trained, Sugiyama was considered a major inspiration for other Japanese game music composers and was active from the 1960s until his death from septic shock in 2021. Sugiyama was also a council member of the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers, and Publishers (JASRAC), board member of the Japan Institute for National Fundamentals, and honorary chairman of the Japanese Backgammon Society.
