''The World Around Us'' was an Australian documentary television series that aired on the Seven Network between 1979 until 2006. Seven Network
The Seven Network (commonly known as Channel Seven or simply Seven) is a major Australian commercial free-to-air Television broadcasting in Australia, television network. It is owned by Seven West Media, Seven West Media Limited, and is one of five main free-to-air television networks in Australia. The network's headquarters are located in Sydney. As of 2014, it is the second-largest network in the country in terms of population reach. The Seven Network shows various nonfiction shows—such as news broadcasts (''Seven News'') and sports programing—as well as fiction shows. In 2011, the network won all 40 out of 40 weeks of the ratings season for total viewers, being the first to achieve this since the introduction of the OzTAM ratings system in 2001. Frank Warrick
Francis Michael Warrick (1944 – 11 May 2021) was an Australian journalist and newsreader and TV game show host. Biography Warrick began his career in radio as a disc jockey in Toowoomba in 1963 with AM radio station 4GR, and in 1965 he was the first voice heard on the new Gold Coast AM radio station 4GG. Warrick joined Seven Brisbane as a newsreader in 1976 and served in the position until his retirement in 2001, including a role as co-presenter of 13 years opposite Kay McGrath. In 1991, prison escapee Harold John McSweeney surrendered to Warrick and a television helicopter crew on the Queensland Darling Downs, purportedly to avoid being shot by the Queensland Police. Warrick hosted the game show ''The $1,000,000 Chance of a Lifetime'' in 1999—before the program was taken over by sports journalist Sandy Roberts. Kay McGrath is an Australian former journalist, most notably being the former weekend presenter on ''Seven News Brisbane''. She formerly presented the bulletin with Rod Young on weekends between 2013 and 2016, and on weeknights between 2002 and 2012, during which, after years of steady progress, the bulletin overtook the rival ''Nine News Queensland'' as the top-rating news service in Brisbane. Ann Sanders (born 15 March 1960), is an Australian television journalist and news presenter. Sanders currently presents '' Seven Morning News'' and '' Seven Afternoon News Sydney.'' Career Sanders began her broadcasting career with SAS-7 in Adelaide, South Australia as a weather presenter before moving to Seven Perth. During this time she won two consecutive (1981/1982) Logie Awards for Most Popular Female Personality in Western Australia. She moved to Sydney in 1983 to join Network Ten as a consumer reporter and news presenter before returning to the Seven Network as a news presenter in 1988.
