''The Wee Hours Revue'' is the major label debut album by United States, American alternative rock band Roman Candle (band), Roman Candle, released in 2006 in music, 2006. Background and production Many of the songs were reworked from their debut recording ''Says Pop'', which was released in 2002 via a small independent label, Outlook Music, run by NFL defensive end Trevor Pryce. The band was later signed to a contract by Hollywood Records, who paid to re-record their album but set it on the shelf for two years before dropping the band altogether. V2 Records stepped in and bought the rights to the re-recorded tracks and set a June 20, 2006 release date for the record. The album was recorded predominantly in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, at Chris Stamey's studio, Modern Recording. Both Chris Stamey and Roman Candle are credited as producing the album. Roman Candle is an indie rock band from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, composed of Skip Matheny, Logan Matheny and Timshel Matheny. They have released three studio albums, several touring EP's, toured extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe, and played in various other bands / live acts. Roman Candle was founded in 1997 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The band, who all attended UNC-Chapel Hill, recorded and performed there for 10 years before moving to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2008. John Plymale
John Plymale is a record producer, recording engineer, and musician from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA. Plymale was a founding member of the band The Pressure Boys in 1981 as well as The Sex Police in 1989. He was bassist for the band Bustello, a band led by Ben Clarke (formerly of Metal Flake Mother) and drummer for the band Kickball, a trio formed with John Gillespie and Mike Garrigan. Plymale has also performed with the "supergroup" Preesh!, along with Robert Sledge ( Ben Folds Five) and Brian Dennis ( DAG). Trevor Wesley Pryce II (born August 3, 1975) is a former American football defensive end and author who played fourteen seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played.
