Tony Hoffer
Tony Hoffer is an American record producer, songwriter, and music mixer. Career Hoffer is credited for his work on multiple platinum-selling albums including The Kooks, The Thrills, Beck, Supergrass, Turin Brakes and Air. His records have been nominated for 7 Grammys and British Mercury Prize Awards for his work with Beck, M83, Chromeo, Silversun Pickups, Depeche Mode and The Thrills. Hoffer is most noted for his production and mixing of albums by Beck, The Fratellis (debuted at #2 in UK charts on 11 Sep 06), The Kooks (one of the top-selling UK albums in 2006), M83, Belle & Sebastian, Fitz and the Tantrums and Air. Phoenix (band)
Phoenix is a French pop rock band from Versailles, formed in 1995. Their lineup, which has remained unchanged since their formation, comprises Thomas Mars (lead vocals), Deck d'Arcy (bass/keyboards/backing vocals), Christian Mazzalai (guitar/backing vocals) and Laurent Brancowitz (guitar/keyboards/backing vocals); additionally, Thomas Hedlund has been the band's session and live drummer since 2005. ''Ether Song'' is the second album by the British rock band Turin Brakes. Following the band's first album '' The Optimist LP'' (2001), this was a bit of a departure, relying on more electric instruments. So Much For The City
''So Much for the City'' is the debut album of the Irish indie/ pop band The Thrills. It was released on 27 May 2003 and quickly saw success in Ireland, spending 61 weeks in the top 75 of the Irish Albums Chart, and also won 'Album of the Year' at the national music awards. It was also very successful in UK, debuting at #3, remaining in the charts for 25 weeks, and gave them some attention in Europe, with the single " Big Sur" reaching #17 in the UK, which remains as their highest charted position in that country to date. In an interview, lead singer Conor Deasy explained the band's inspiration for the song material: The album was nominated for the 2003 Mercury Prize but lost to Dizzee Rascal's ''Boy in da Corner''. Life On Other Planets
''Life on Other Planets'' is the fourth album by English alternative rock band Supergrass. It is the first album that includes Rob Coombes as an official member of the band, and originally went under the working title of ''Get Lost''. The American edition of the album included many bonus tracks and rare live editions. One of these live editions became infamous when it was discovered you can hear a gunshot in the background of the song. It peaked at #9 in the UK charts. Concept The band claim that much of the inspiration for this album was gleaned from a "working holiday" in the Côte d'Azur, Southern France together, listening to the French radio station Nostalgie and watching Carl Sagan documentaries on the cosmos. ''10 000 Hz Legend'' is the second studio album by French electronic music duo Air, released in France on 28 May 2001 by Virgin Records and in the United States on 29 May 2001 by Astralwerks. On this album, tracks are longer and more electronic-oriented than on their previous records. These experimentations find the duo expanding their capacities and working with other artists including Beck and suGar Yoshinaga of Buffalo Daughter. The album artwork was produced by Ito Morabito and its cover image features Monument Valley, located on the Arizona–Utah border. ''Midnite Vultures'' is the seventh studio album by American musician Beck, released on November 23, 1999 by DGC Records. While similar to most of Beck's previous albums in its exploration of widely varying styles, it did not achieve the same blockbuster success as his breakthrough album ''Odelay'', but was still critically acclaimed and commercially successful.
