The Washing Machine
''The Washing Machine'' ( it, Vortice Mortale) is a 1993 giallo film directed by Ruggero Deodato. Plot Inspector Alexander Stacev is called to the house of three sisters, Ludmilla, Vida and Maria, after Ludmilla claims to have found the dismembered body of Vida's pimp boyfriend Yuri inside their washing machine. When he arrives and finds no body he tells them there is no case, putting it down to a drunken hallucination. The sisters think otherwise and follow and pester him about the disappearance of Yuri, luring him into their strange world. Cast Production ''The Washing Machine'' was based on a stage play ''La Lavatrice'' by Luigi Spagnol. It was shot in Budapest. Deodato described the film as being "made precariously" and without distribution. Release ''The Washing Machine'' was released in 1993 and did not find distribution in Italy. Ruggero Deodato
Ruggero Deodato (born 7 May 1939) is an Italian film director, screenwriter, and sometime actor. His career has spanned a wide-range of genres including peplum, comedy, drama, poliziottesco and science fiction, yet he is perhaps best known for directing violent and gory horror films with strong elements of realism. His most notable film is '' Cannibal Holocaust'', considered one of the most controversial and brutal in the history of cinema, which was seized, banned or heavily censored in many countries, and which contained special effects so realistic that they led to Deodato being arrested on suspicion of murder. It is also cited as a precursor of found footage films such as ''The Blair Witch Project'' and '' The Last Broadcast''. Rashomon
is a 1950 Jidaigeki psychological thriller/crime film directed and written by Akira Kurosawa, working in close collaboration with cinematographer Kazuo Miyagawa.
