Macabre Cabaret
''Macabre Caberet'' is an EP by My Dying Bride, released in CD and vinyl formats via Nuclear Blast on 20 November 2020. Background Frontman Aaron Stainthorpe said of the album: Macabre Cabaret delves into the shadow empire of dark love and the consequences of unchecked sexuality. The deep passion of physical desire and its all-conquering rage over pure love is written bleakly here. A destructive essence within the soul can’t help but rear its ugly head. A Secret Kiss is the final and lasting mark on the soul any human will feel when the lights have dulled and nothing meaningful remains for them. All religion features a shadow creature who arrives at the point of extinction and the release of the human soul, to either guide them to majesty or allow them do fall eternally into the ether. A Purse of Gold and Stars is where we keep our hopes and desires and affection, perhaps in a dreamlike state, unattainable yet we still reach out for them. The trinkets and shiny baubles we cal ... Background Speaking to Metal Forces magazine, vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe said, " he songs arevery similar to 'A Map of All Our Failures', because they were written and recorded at the same time, except for one song. That really stands out… aughsIt's full-on sort of epic death metal; it's swords and axes, a proper warrior battle kind of track that's almost medieval in flavor. You can almost picture the scene; it's set in a snowy kind of mountainous landscape. There are sound effects and all sorts of mayhem going on in it, and death metal vocals not quite all the way through it, but near enough. It even has a Swedish title which because my Swedish isn't great, I'm not gonna repeat here. aughsI need to get the pronunciation right before I do that." The album's title track ... Anti-Diluvian Chronicles
''Anti-Diluvian Chronicles'' is a compilation album by My Dying Bride, which features both album tracks and new remixes. It is the fourth My Dying Bride compilation album, following 1995's ''Trinity (My Dying Bride album), Trinity'' and 2000's ''Meisterwerk 1'' and ''Meisterwerk 2''. Song information The remix tracks were made especially for this release by My Dying Bride, and rather than just remixes of the original material, additional new parts were also recorded and incorporated into the original songs. The key differences are that "My Wine in Silence" has a completely new drum track, and the harsh vocals were removed from the middle section of the song, as Aaron Stainthorpe was not pleased with them as they were originally recorded and released, and maintains he was coerced into it by his fellow band members. "The Wreckage of My Flesh" is stripped of nearly all instrumentation other than keyboards and the lead guitar parts, and "The Raven and the Rose" features a guitar solo ...
