The Ultimate Prom Nite
''The Ultimate Prom Nite'' is a Malaysian reality television series produced and broadcast by 8TV in collaboration with cosmetics brand Nivea. As the "inter-college prom event", it aims to seek for the "Ultimate Prom King and Queen" among male and female students, respectively, of various higher learning institutions throughout the country. The first season aired on 1 December 2007 on 8TV as a one-off broadcast which aired the Grand Finale live from SEGi College, Kota Damansara at 11pm. The second season airs in late 2008 in a series. Format ''The Ultimate Prom Nite'' kicks off its search by holding a road show in various colleges and universities around the country, focusing on the search for male and female students to be finalists in the running for the "Ultimate Prom King" and "Ultimate Prom Queen" title, respectively. ''The 8TV Quickie'' was a both 15-minute and 1 minute short variety show that aired every night at 9:30pm, 10:30pm (or 10:00 pm on certain days) and 11:30pm (or 12:00 am / 12:30 am on certain days), on 8TV. The first two air for one minute as a sneak preview, and the last one, the regular edition, is 15 minutes with a single commercial break. The last opening sequence of the show features the song " We Are Over Here" by Malaysian band, Dash. In the main 15-minute show, the hosts usually introduces the preview of a current movie, play creative games and receive calls from the audience to participate in contests to win prizes.
