The Stud (film)
''The Stud'' is a 1978 British drama film directed by Quentin Masters and starring Joan Collins and Oliver Tobias. It is based on the 1969 novel of the same name by Collins' younger sister Jackie Collins. Joan had asked her sister Jackie for the film rights for free and Jackie agreed whilst contributing to the screenplay. Joan met producer Brent Walker at the Cannes Film festival in 1977. He became excited by the project as it was proposed as a British alternative to '' Saturday Night Fever''. Both Joan Collins' husband, Ron Kass, and Jackie Collins' husband, Oscar Lerhman, also acted as producers on the project. Ron Kass
Ron Kass (March 30, 1935 – October 17, 1986) was an American businessman, recording executive, manager of The Beatles, and film producer. Kass worked with at least four recording companies: Liberty, MGM, Warner Brothers, and Apple Records. Early life Born Ronald Stanley Kashinoff in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, his family changed the name to Kass when they moved to California. He attended Fairfax High Schoolin Los Angeles where he played in a band that became Tijuana Brass and then got a degree in accounting from UCLA. Career Kass married his UCLA sweetheart, Anita, and started working for Liberty Records which was directly across from Hollywood High School. Mark Burns (actor)
Mark Burns (30 March 1936 – 8 May 2007) was an English film and television actor. Biography Burns was born in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire and educated at Ampleforth College, North Yorkshire. He originally planned to enter the priesthood, but after a short-service commission with the 15th/19th The King's Royal Hussars (1955–57), in which he served in Malaya and Northern Ireland, he became an actor. His career began in 1960 with the film ''Tunes of Glory'' followed by the TV series ''Lorna Doone'' (1963) and ''Rupert of Hentzau'' (1964). Sarah Elizabeth Lawson (born 6 August 1928) is an English actress best known for her film and television roles. Early life Lawson is the youngest of three children born to Edith (née Monteith) and Noel John Charles Lawson (1887–1964), a naval officer of Irish heritage. Merlin ( cy, Myrddin, kw, Marzhin, br, Merzhin) is a mythical figure prominently featured in the legend of King Arthur and best known as a mage, with several other main roles. Constantine Gregory (born Constantine Liebert, September 16, 1942) is an American actor, dialect coach, and voice actor. Until 1983 he was usually credited as Constantin de Goguel. Life and career He was born of a Dutch father and Russian–born mother. On their divorce, he was given his mother's surname of de Goguel. His mother was born in 1920 in Sebastopol with the White Army during the Russian Civil War, and in 1925 was smuggled out to England, where she was brought up.
