The Star Parade
The Star Parade are an Irish–Italian rock band based in Milan, Italy. The band formed in late 2008, when they quickly released five tracks online for public review. The band, known locally as TSP, was created by Des Anderson and Fab Martini. TSP speedily accessed many avenues within the industry since this time. Having quickly made its mark within the online community, they are now being tied to fashion labels and the arts within Milan. Anderson, being Irish, has brought an international side to the band while Martini has brought years of training in sound design and engineering within Italy. They have created a unique sound within the Italian music industrAlbeit different from what Italy expects, TSP have strangely slotted into the music world there and found their place. ''You're a Star'' is an Irish music competition series broadcast by RTÉ One from 2002 to 2008. Produced by the broadcaster and Screentime ShinAwiL, the series was similar to formats such as ''Idol'' and ''The X Factor''. For its first three series, ''You're a Star'' was used to choose the musician who would perform the Irish entry at the Eurovision Song Contest. In later series, the grand prize was changed to a recording contract with Universal Music Ireland (with the Irish selection now conducted via the Eurosong qualifier, whose finals are hosted by '' The Late Late Show''), and later music equipment and €50,000. Thomas Black (Irish TV Personality)
Thomas Black is a former Irish record label executive and TV personality. He worked at EMI Records Ireland as A&R director, where he signed artists like Relish, Aslan, Cathy Davey and John Spillane. He previously worked for Sony Records in the same position, signing The 4 of Us and Cry Before Dawn to the label. Black was one of the three judges on the TV talent show ''You're a Star'' where he discovered and championed Dublin band 21 DEMANDS who made Irish chart history by becoming the first unsigned artist to achieve a number one single, the band subsequently changed their name to Kodaline, signing to Sony Records.
