The Spitz
The Spitz was a music venue in the East End of London, at 109 Commercial Street, London, Commercial Street on the edge of the Old Spitalfields Market. The venue was forced to close in 2007 in a dispute about rent. Closure In April 2007 the landlord of the premises, Ballymore Properties, gave The Dandelion Trust six months to move out, claiming that it had not kept up with its payments. The Spitz dispute this, and insist that they have always paid its rent. Ballymore Properties have agreed terms with another operator. East End
The East End of London, often referred to within the London area simply as the East End, is the historic core of wider East London, east of the Roman and medieval walls of the City of London and north of the River Thames. It does not have universally accepted boundaries to the north and east, though the River Lea is sometimes seen as the eastern boundary. Parts of it may be regarded as lying within Central London (though that term too has no precise definition). The term "East of Aldgate Pump" is sometimes used as a synonym for the area. Beth Orton
Elizabeth Caroline Orton (born 14 December 1970) is an English musician, known for her "folktronica" sound, which mixes elements of folk and electronica. She was initially recognised for her collaborations with William Orbit, Andrew Weatherall, Red Snapper and the Chemical Brothers in the mid-1990s. Her UK/US first solo album, ''Trailer Park'', received much critical acclaim in 1996. Glen Matlock
Glen Matlock (born 27 August 1956) is an English musician, best known for being the bass guitarist in the original line-up of the punk rock band the Sex Pistols. He is credited as a songwriter on 10 of the 12 songs on the Sex Pistols' only album, '' Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols'', although he had left the band early in the recording process, credited as bassist and backing vocalist on only two songs on the album, " Anarchy in the U.K." and "God Save The Queen". Fonda 500 (aka F500 or Fonda500) are a British band hailing from Kingston upon Hull. Background Formed by Simon Stone and Nicholas Broten in 1995, Fonda 500 have been releasing albums since 2000. Richard Anthony Monsour (May 4, 1937 – March 16, 2019), known professionally as Dick Dale, was an American rock guitarist. He was a pioneer of surf music, drawing on Middle Eastern music scale (music), scales and experimenting with reverb effect, reverb. Dale was known as "The King of the Surf Guitar", which was also the title of King of the Surf Guitar, his second studio album. Dale was one of the most influential guitarists of all time and especially of the early 1960s. The Cobra Killer duo of Gina V. D'Orio and Annika Trost began as part of Alec Empire's Digital hardcore movement. Both were part of other bands signed to Empire's Digital Hardcore Recordings label—D'Orio was in EC8OR, and Trost was in Shizuo. When Empire's label cut back on its bands, many of the DHR groups folded, but D'Orio and Trost kept going. In a 20-year career he released 10 studio albums, two live collections and a number of collaborations. Cat Empire
The Cat Empire are an Australian jazz/funk band, formed in Melbourne, Victoria, in 1999. For most of the band's duration, the core members were Felix Riebl (lead vocals, percussion), Harry James Angus (trumpet, vocals), Will Hull-Brown (drums), Jamshid "Jumps" Khadiwhala (turntables, percussion), Ollie McGill (keyboards, backing vocals) and Ryan Monro (bass, backing vocals). Billy Childish
Billy Childish (born Steven John Hamper, 1 December 1959) is an English painter, author, poet, photographer, film maker, singer and guitarist.
