''The Second Act'' is the sixth studio album by Australian singer-songwriter Missy Higgins. The album was released on 6 September 2024 through Eleven: A Music Company. Melissa Morrison Higgins (born 19 August 1983), known professionally as Missy Higgins, is an Australian singer-songwriter and musician. Her Australian number-one albums are ''The Sound of White'' (2004), ''On a Clear Night'' (2007) and ''The Ol' Razzle Dazzle'' (2012), and her singles include "Scar (song), Scar", "Steer (Missy Higgins song), Steer" and "Where I Stood". As per the press release, ''Total Control'' has "themes of exploitation and female empowerment" and its songs were inspired by musical fragments for certain scenes of ABC TV's political drama, '' Total Control''. The album was co-produced by Higgins's friend Brendon Love, one of the Teskey Brothers. The Sound Of White
''The Sound of White'' is the debut studio album by Australian pop singer-songwriter Missy Higgins, released 6 September 2004 by Eleven. It won the 2005 ARIA Music Award for Best Female Artist. Higgins had secured recording contracts with Eleven and Warner Bros. while still in high school, after winning a competition for unsigned artists run by radio station Triple J. Her winning song, "All For Believing", is included on this album. After a backpacking trip in 2002, Higgins toured and wrote songs during 2003. She wrote most tracks alone and collaborated on three songs, with Kevin Griffin, Jay Clifford and Clif Magness respectively. ''The Sound of White'' was recorded in 2004 with producer John Porter.
