''The Scattering of Ashes'' is the fourth full-length studio album by the Canadian heavy metal band Into Eternity. It was released on 3 October 2006 by Century Media Records. It is the first album to feature vocalist Stu Block, and bassist Troy Bleich. In addition, the cover art is the first since their eponymous debut that does not feature the crow prominently depicted on previous albums. To date, the album has sold over 15,000 copies in the US, and peaked at number 45 on ''Billboards Top Independent Albums chart. Two videos were made for "Severe Emotional Distress", and "Timeless Winter." Into Eternity (band)
Into Eternity is a Canadian progressive metal band from Regina, Saskatchewan, formed in 1997 by Tim Roth, Scott Krall and Jim Austin. History First five albums Into Eternity was formed in 1997 by founding members Tim Roth, Scott Krall and Jim Austin and later released an eponymous, independent album in 1999, with the addition of Chris Eisler and Chris McDougall. The band signed to Century Media Records a year later and then re-released their debut album. In 2001, the band returned with their second album '' Dead or Dreaming'', an album which saw a more pronounced integration of progressive and death metal. The trend continued on 2004's '' Buried in Oblivion'' and even further on 2006's '' The Scattering of Ashes''. Into Eternity performed on Gigantour 2006, which kicked off in Boise, Idaho on September 6, 2006. ''Into Eternity'' is the debut studio album by the Canadian metal band, Into Eternity. The album was originally self-released by the band in 1999, then was re-released by DVS Records in 2000 with different coverart and one bonus track. The DVS version enlists Daniel Nargang (who would later share guitar and vocal duties with Tim Roth on the band's 2001 follow up '' Dead or Dreaming'') on guitar instead of Chris Eisler. The album is intertwined with audio excerpts from the 1994 film ''Pulp Fiction''. Andy Sneap
Andy Sneap (born 18 July 1969) is an English guitarist, record producer and composer with over 100 albums to his name, most of which have been produced at his Backstage Recording studios in rural Derbyshire. Some of the most critically acclaimed production work on albums include ''Deliverance'' by Opeth and '' Disarm the Descent'' by Killswitch Engage; for which he earned a Swedish Grammis and a US Grammy nomination, respectively. As a performer, he first built his reputation as one of the guitarists in the British thrash metal band Sabbat, and played with them up until their disbanding. He is currently one of the co-guitarists of the British heavy metal band Hell. In 2018 he joined Judas Priest as a touring guitarist, following long-time lead guitarist Glenn Tipton's diagnosis of Parkinson's disease which conflicts with his touring abilities. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. Electric Guitar
An electric guitar is a guitar that requires external amplification in order to be heard at typical performance volumes, unlike a standard acoustic guitar (however combinations of the two - a semi-acoustic guitar and an electric acoustic guitar exist). It uses one or more pickups to convert the vibration of its strings into electrical signals, which ultimately are reproduced as sound by loudspeakers. A death growl, or simply growl, is an extended vocal technique usually employed in extreme styles of music, particularly in death metal and other extreme subgenres of heavy metal music. Tim Roth (musician)
Tim Roth (born December 6, 1975) is the guitarist, backing vocalist and only remaining founding member of Canadian melodic death metal and progressive metal band, Into Eternity. Roth is very much the mastermind of Into Eternity, plays the majority of their guitar solos and also was originally the lead vocalist. His primary guitar is an Ibanez S470, and has said that he does not use amplifiers in studio recordings, but uses instead a program called Amp Farm. He has been playing guitar for 32 years. He has a somewhat unconventional style of playing revolved on his unique alternate picking style and sweep/tap arpeggios. His vocal style consists of high pitched clean power metal vocals and a more black metal oriented shriek (complementing the deeper death metal growls of his co-vocalists).
